Both positive and negative clamps attached to a metal bar? Unless there are individual switches to each set.

We can't buy a Vespa or a Yamaha, Luke. We can't afford a big truck to pull a trailer and we have to ride our scooters to Rallies.

I would like a vespa luke. I JUST LOVE REAL SCOOTERS, WITH A FULL FLOOR BOARD. 2 weeks ago if I was wanting to get rid of one scooter it would have been the majesty, its just that I have a good thousand bucks more into it more than it is worth because of the repairs I had to make. I do have room for one more scooter in my storage shed now. The chinese is laying on its side in a heap at the top of my drive. I will be getting rid of it. And I will not be giving it away, before I do that I will set it on fire and cave the bottom of the engine in rendering it total scrap. The riva will probably stay for a while, it is a yamaha, but so old I do not expect that yamaha would have parts. Have not had the urge to ride yet. Have finally figured out why I have such a bad bruise on almost the entire left collar bone, that's from the shoei helmet, better that than to come out of a coma with a broken head. I don't like the idea of having to spend any money at all since all was paid for at the time each were purchased and all were in perfect running condition . I doubt if I will ever see a penny out of the a hole who owns or owned the dog, he still owes me for the hosp bill in oct when the same dog bit me and his electricity has been turned off since last friday. I looked again yesterday, I thought there was one undamaged plastic panel on it but every piece of plastic on it is broken or deep scratched. Front pirelli is like new, the rear has maybe 3-400 miles on it. "perfect for a rat rod" ! The battery is probably junk by now, I think the ign is still on but key was broke off. I am just sick and tired of working on crap, that damn majesty got me burned out and do not ever want to go thru that again. Vespa is just so over priced I probably will never get one, I do like a korean one though. www.hyosungmotorsusa.com/product/introduction.asp?Cat=Scooter&model=MS3-250 They come in white and cost just a tad more than what I have in the yamahammer. On a trade I would probably get less than third of what I have in it so I can just dream.

That is a nice looking scoot jct... I myself just do not like to ride a flat deck scoot. I just feel unsafe on it. Now I have friends that like nothing but and can not get the one leg over the hump. Some times I have to help my leg over the hump but I love it when riding. Now I have even a higher hump on the Silver Wing I just got but wow, I love it. Some of the best looking scoots are flat deckers

What!! You didn't get a Yamaha T-Max!! Haven't you been listening to Luke?? Yamaha scooters run faster than a speeding Ninja and last longer than anything on the road. Oh Magoo, why did you settle for third best?

Kz..... OH!! NO!!! Did I mess up? Shucks.... Waite a minute.... I am not interested in trailer time, Honda have been BULLET PROOF to me in the past. Even that Reflex of mine, I put over 9,000 Florida miles on it last year and just checked her out and changed the oil and cleaned the air filter on her. Luke is a Low Rider Desoto Van Buss owner that rides on a trailer. . . LOL

yah, i've been telling magoo to get a genuine yamaha, but he still preferred the second rate brand... LOL!! kidding!!
but yes i'd like to own a vintage vespa like the 40's or 50's model... the modern vespas nowadays looks just like a regular scooter , the vintage vespa's engine and parts looks awsome and solid... doesnt look like a chinocycle!!!

I am open to all suggestions for replacement except if it has yamaha on the side name tag. never again
edit: oh in case you didn't look at all the pictures check the one where you just lift the hood to see the motor, just like a 49 ford! There is no reason in the world why all scooters should not be able to show the motor for service by lifting the hood.

Jct you are right... I too see no reason why the skin on these things, Chino, Japan any are so hard to get to things. They all need design changes for simple service.

My 1958 wards scooter made by mitsubishi had a twist and go transmission just like todays scooters and the "hood" lifted and hinged. I believe it was just as fast as the 150cc chinese I just lost and was only a 125cc. For the final drive it was a chain rather than the gears in todays scooter, but it worked just fine. For many years I believed it was a 165 and thanks to the internet I finally found the truth.
I believe the japs are going backwards in scooter design for the most part. The word scooter does not imply touring or anything like that. The first scooters were made to scoot here and there and cross country was not in its job description. If I ever have the desire to go touring I will get an other goldwing or some thing very similar.

I too was amazed when I first took a silver wing for a spin... Than as a Trike WOW, it is almost as if no power lost. Even with the extra weight it is a power ship. I have trouble with the legs and all since a stroke so I am glade to have the scooter to tour with.
