If it backfires your running LEAN, check for AIR LEAKS especially where the pipe connects to the motor. Also if it is idling low you could raise the idle without having the rear wheel spinning. After it cuts out does it start up right away or do you have to wait a while before it fires back up?

Well your missing something because it is backfiring when you let go of the throttle IT IS RUNNING LEAN. Did you put some mods on it like free flow filter and or performance exhaust?
