Hey all. I recently upgraded my 50cc for a 150cc(mostly bc my 50cc got stolen on me). I bought it used, its a 2008 t56 150cc, and only had 250 miles on it. I swapped out the oils and gas, as well as removed the kickstart cover to check the belt which is fine(but there's this fine black powder all over inside).
After doing everything I had taken it out for a spin. When I was leaving, I bottemed out due to going over a curb. After doing so, I noticed a metal like rattle coming from the right side underneath. After riding it for a few minutes, I noticed that the muffler sounds like its not sealed flush properly against the engine. How do I go about tightening it? I checked the muffler, and I don't see any breaks or gashes in it, but it does look like I'm going to need to replace it, the metal is showing signs of rust.

Also I had put a caps worth of seafoam(cleaning agent) in the oil and gas mixture, would this cause any problems?

It probably loosened the Flange that connects to the motor Exhaust port. When cold grab the pipe and see if it moves where it connects to the motor. If it is sounding different it is leaking by there and see if you it came loose. Now you have be carefull You CANNOT CRANK ON THE NUTS A LOT JUST NICE AND TIGHT otherwise the STUD may break or STRIP out of the HEAD. There is a GASKET that goes in there to stop it from leaking you may need a new one if it is leaking by there and it will not seal when you tighten them down a little. Alleyoop

Ok thanks, ill look at that. What if the muffler is fine? What should I do next? Just worried bc I use this to get to and from work atm and don't want anything bad happening to it.

I am sure you muffler is fine going over a curb it would hit the pipe not the muffler. The mufflers are usually going up at an angle. You should be able to find that extra noise you say and find where it is coming from BY THE MUFFLER or by the FLANGE in the picture. But usually it is a puffling sound if leaking and louder. If you can't tell get a VIDEO going and go near the flange and along the pipe where it connects to the muffler. Alleyoop

If it starts to backfire YES, it can damage the Exhaust Valve. Alleyoop

It is leaking check it out and find the leak, it has to either the PIPE has a hole in where you went over the curb or it is leaking where the pipe connects to the MUFFLER or where it connects to the motor. Alleyoop

Well I found the problem. Bad news is that the hole isn't on the muffler, its on the bottem of the engine where the pipe connects to it, right next to it. is there any quick fixes or am I screwed?
