I have just had my scooter not even a month and it will not start. Have used the highest octane gas in it and I changed the oil twice already and the gear oil also. The only thing l am going to try is the fuel filter but I cannot believe that is clogged up. I live on a dirt road and it can be dusty not sure whether it has clogged any thing up but I am going to check the air filter. I t just sounds like it is not getting enough gas.

Tell us exactly what is happenig when you try to start it. If it just turns and turns and doesnt make a noise like it is or wants to fire, it is likely a spark problem....take off your airbox and spray a shot of starting fliud in there and try to start it....if there is no sign of the engine firing it is likey a spark problem............take out your plug and hold it to the head of the engine and bump the starter....look for a blue spark. than let us know whats up by removing the airbox and using starting fliud you can eliminate whether its just starving for air or starving for fuel.

Well another thing I didn't notice was that the front light usually comes on when I turn the key on. It now does not do that I did do what you said and no spark. Does the CDI tell the spark plug to spark also? I really though it was starving for gas now I think it is just not gettting a spark. I am beginning to think it is a electrical problem

Are you sure you have the KILLSWITCH on RUN position. It is on the Righ HandGrip usually RED right on top. Also some have a Killswitch on the SIDE STAND and that HAS TO BE UP for it to start. Alleyoop

Well if you live off dusty road and the filter got all dirty it would actually FEED IT MORE FUEL not less. So you do NOT HAVE SPARK, ok follow the SPARK PLUG BACK to where it connects now look in back of the ACTUAL COIL there should be either 1 wire or 2 wires going to it MAKE SURE they are on good. Since your road is dusty I would imagine it is not smooth and a lot of bouncing around and wires can come loose.
Also check the GROUND wire from the MOTOR TO THE FRAME if that came off or is not making good contact you will not get spark. So check the ground wires from the battery to the frame and to the motor. Make sure they are making good contact, many times they do not take the paint off under the bolt and just attach the ground wires to it.
One other thing CHECK the FUSE, it is on a RED WIRE coming off the BATTERY. It may not be making good contact, they are usually TUBE TYPE FUSES and they may look good but are bad where you cannot see the break. Most scoots come with a spar fuse I would change it and see if your lights then come on.
