Lets hope it is just the IDLER and the key way because if the shaft of it is not held in place it will not be straight . Alleyoop

How would I know if the shaft is bent? I bought a new idle it comes with the shaft. Is there one inside the engine?

Are we talking about the same gears, Or are you talking about gears in the CVT for the KICKSTARTER? Alleyoop

I was talking about the idler gear on the kick starter. I just have those put back together. I'm waiting on the starter clutch to arrive. Hopefully on Tuesday I'll be able to put it on. Thanks again.

Ive taken it apart today. What a job. So the clutch was wrecked took it off, metal fillings all inside. So cleaned it all up. Put it back on..But I was putting the spater nut back on and it only goes on part way. Im pretty sure it would go all the way to the clutch right. Does it matter which way that nut goes on. One side of the nut looks diffrent. Did I put it on wrong? Is there a way to get the nut off its kinda stuck. I tighten it or loosen it and it just turns. Is there something that I can hold while loosing it? Thanks again!

Here is the nut that wide part goes against the Bell. If you are not using an Impact Wrench then you will need something to hold the BELL you can try locking your rear brake on and or having the rear wheel on the ground and have someone sit on it so it does not turn. Alleyoop

Thats a diffrent nut. The one that Im talking about is the special nut with 4 slots on top that you need a castle spater wrench to take it off. Should I replace the gasket or could I use a liquid blue gasket instead?

Ok now were back on track. Got it all put back together. Starts really good, but something isn't working in the kick starter. Thats a problem for later. So I adjusted the fuel bowl and now shes getting gas in the carb! But when I turn the gas just a smidge it stalls.. So I think its just a matter of adjusting the carb? What do you think?

Oh your talking about the STARTER CLUTCH INSIDE THE MOTOR. Yes that requires a special socket or you can angle a screw driver in one of the slots and bang if loose and or on. I thought you meant the CVT clutch. Alleyoop

Yes the starter clutch is all fixed. I used a impact wrench to take off the stuck nut. Came off pretty easy and then put it back on. So now for getting it so it wont stall out when I pull on the throttle. Any ideas?

I've tried to adjust the idle and not having so much luck at it. It seems that it kinda runs out of gas after a min or so. If I keep putting gas in the line to the fuel inlet it will keep going. I can't believe that its the petcock because I already have replaced it. Maybe the carb isnt sucking hard enough? I adjusted the float a bit by moving the tab toward me it seems to have gas in the bowl. When I take it apart. But not enough gas in the line.

I pretty much have gotten it running. Goes down the road pretty good, but then it has some flat issues while going around 20 mph or so. Im thinking that I need to clamp the fuel lines better. I had a vacuum leak on the fuel pump causing the fuel not making it to the carb, also I put the old fuel pump back on guess it wasnt bad after all. Or maybe the the little petcock was just too small? Heck all I know is it is running and I was able to get the idle down to about right. So my question is I hear a pinging noise when its running. Could I have gas in it that does not have enough octane in it or maybe adjusting the valves again. I feel I have the valves about right but maybe just needs to be looser? And the flat spots when going down the road
