Well I finally decided to install the DR2 Variator and see how it works, I was hoping it would work well. Very Disappointed a lot of money for a Variator and I have to say it stinks. It came with 9.5, 10.5 and 12.5 gram rollers. I used 10.5 for the light rollers and 12.5 for the heavy rollers. NOW you have remember I am running with a KOSO 115mm Variator that I bought from JOHN the TVNACMAN and I love it. I even ordered another one from him just to have as a spare. I run 12 gram weights with the KOSO Variator and my Trike hauls butt over 60mph. With the DR2 all I got was HIGH RPMS and top speed of 50mph(WTH). No need to change and put in the light 9.5 weights that would raise my rpms even more. With the KOSO Variator my rpms hit 50mph at 5100-5200 and at 60 6100-6200 and the max RPMS I have only seen it go around 7000-7200. Found the belt would not climb high on the Variator I did not bother to slap in 13gram weights if 12.5 weights only gets you 50mph with very high rpms. The heaviest I ever ran on any of my variators is 13 gram rollers and 13 gram Dr. pulley Sliders. But with those the RPMS only get up to around 6500 and no more. So I am not about to experiment and just slap In all 13grams or all 12 grams. I also did not like the high rpms and no getup and go, the rpms climbed but I was in low gear no speed. My .02 on the DR2 Variator Alleyoop knmparts.com/Variator-DR2-Kit-18x14-150cc-Variator-DR2-Kit-18x14-150cc.htm?categoryId=-1

Yeah, a pretty big bit of coin. And it sounded so good. Are you gonna send it back and get another one on chance it was defective?

No, I am sure they will not refund me, I had it out with them before and it was not pleasant to say the least. The Variator is setup for high rpms its a given, I even swap the light ones and put them in the S ramps and the same thing High Rpms and all I reached was 50mph and the take off and getting up to speed was slow.
Maybe one of you guys want to try it, BRAND NEW ONLY USED ONCE for about 1 mile real cheap. It may work with all of the same weights and maybe all 13s or even 14s to lower the rpms. But I want to ride and I gave it a shot and I NO LIKIE. Alleyoop

Hay Alleyoop, What do you mean by cheap? I don't mean to sound cheap, but I do want to try to improve the top end while on a tight budget. One road I ride on is a 4 lane divided highway with a 55 speed limit and I do get some dirty looks from passing drivers since I can barely hold 48. Shally

Well you see what I paid for it, how about $50.00 plus shipping sound. I will even throw in some rollers I have a lot of them, I used to experiment a lot I have 10s, 11s,12s and I believe 13s as well. The Variator comes with 3-9.5s, 3-10.5s and 3-12.5s. They are all size 18x14. Alleyoop

Shally, I would of added a couple of belts but my 157QMJ is a SHORT CASE case and it takes 743-20-30 yours is the same motor but LONG CASE it probably takes 835-20-30 or 842-20-30. Alleyoop
