I have a 2008 150 chinese scooter that I picked up in a trade. Never seen it run. Got spark, powerful battery, pretty sure its getting gas,I cleaned the jets and bowl, the fuel filter fills up, it doesnt have an intake hose or filter, so while hitting the starter button I placed my hand over the back of the carb and it soaked my hand in gas...should it do that? The motor has good compression, The plug looks dry after cranking it. Also the kill switch is hacked (1 green wire at the top plug isnt connected) but it still cranks and has good spark... Thanks in advance.

let us know how it works out for you. Valves were completely closed, set them, sounds alot better cranking, still wont start, the plug is getting fuel now. I dont understand how I can have compression, spark, fuel and air and it wont start! I even sprayed a little starter fluid to try to get it to "pop" and still nothing. Im at a loss.

Try this, turn the fuel ratio mixture on the carb clockwise until it stops then turn it out 2 1/2 turns. See if it fires. If still no fire Take the Vacuum line going to your petcock hold it up and pour about 1 teaspoon of gas into the vacuum line directly down into the intake. Connect the hose back up and IT should fire at least one and may even start and die. If it does not fire then I do not think the Spark Plug is firing. Alleyoop

Try replacing the spark plug. I can't tell you how many times I've had spark outside the engine but it wouldn't start. I put a new plug in and it fired right up.

New plug did nothing, didnt get a chance to put gas into intake, I have a feeling the motor is being grounded out some kind of way

Are you sure the spark plug is firing. You have to test for sparking. And you have to test it for sparking while grounding the PLUG to the motor or Valve cover. If you just test it on the FRAME that is not good enough. The motor may not be grounded to the frame. And if it isn't the plug will not fire while in the motor. So RE-TEST for spark and hold the plug on either the valve cover or the motor itself. Alleyoop
