That is a guide usually there will be two of them on the case or cvt cover usually one on top toward the rear and one on the bottom toward the front so when you put the CVT cover on it is aligned and holds it nice and straight and even from front to back.

I got the one on the front bottom. It's about 1/2 the size in width. I'll look some more towards the top rear. Thanks Alley.
