I know they're all off. I just went out and put the GPS on the thing and up to 50 it read about 4mph higher then the GPS. What I'm saying take the bike up to about 55 on the gps and speedometer is reading 70 about 15 mph higher.

I have a TaoTao 150 I bought about 6 months ago. Ihave 800 miles on it. It came with the kilometer speedometer. I found a new speedometer MPH on ebay. I replaced the Kilo with the MPH. Was working fine for a couple hundred miles and still works fine up to about 40 but after that, say about 50 or so,it reads like 65-70. Where would I look for the problem, speedometer, cable or something else?

Since the scooter is new and I just filled the tank once, today about a block away from house the engine quit. Gas gauge shows 1/4 left. Looked into the filler and it looked like about a 1/2" gas in bottom. Pushed bike home and put a gallon in and she fired right up. Is there a reserve somewhere on this thing? I didn't see one.

I got the one on the front bottom. It's about 1/2 the size in width. I'll look some more towards the top rear. Thanks Alley.

Ok thanks. I was thinking that maybe some models have a sidestand switch that won't let the bike start when it's on the sidestand.

I just bought a 2012 Taotao 150 Lancer. I noticed that one headlight only lights up high beam with switch in high position. This scooter has headlight bulbs and when I took the fairing off the front the 2 bulbs are not the same. I don't know if it suppose to be that way or not. One bulb has 2 male ends right out of the center of the bulb like a high and low but the other bulb has just one terminal out of the center and the other is on the side like a ground. Can anyone shed some thought about this. Also, on the right side below the bike there's a plug with 2 wires not attached to anything, they're green and white.

My 200 Quit

I got everything put back together and took bike out today a few times around the block. It's running as good as it was before this issue. So I guess the bottom line to this whole thing was that exhaust valve adjuster.

My 200 Quit

Last night I got frustrated and left it alone. Today I take valve cover off and sure enough exhaust valve tight. This time I set the valve at .006 and turned crank over with kick starter to see if it would lock up. I kept turning it about 6 times and no valve lockup. I tightened the crap out of that nut. Put cover back on and bike started. I let it run for about 10 minutes. So maybe it's fixed we'll see. I tried adjusting the a/f not the idle adjustment. Doesn't seem to do much screwing the thing in or out. Had to turn idle screw pretty far down to get it to idle at 2000. I turned the a/f about 2 turns from stop then turned it in a little at a time and it seems like it picked up a little rpm at a complete turn in of the a/f screw.

I will have to look at replacing the head. From what I understand a 150 GY6 is the same except for the bore. I will have to verify this. I will call BMS.

Ok, here's the latest. I got carb all put back together and put it back on the bike. It would not start. It sounded like there was no compression. Took valve cover off again and found exhaust valve with no clearence. I set the valves again, bike started. Ran a minute or so and quit. Tryed to start and again sounded like no compression. Pulled valve cover off once again and exhaust was tight again. I loosened it up like about .025, bike started and was idleing for a few minutes and quit and same issue with the compression. When this thing first quit about a week ago I pulled the valve cover off and that exhaust valve clearence was around .050. So I guess I'll have to pull the head and see what's going on. Not looking forward to this.
