I hear when the roller weights make noise when start wearing out. I have sort of the same problem. Can't figure it out, but I will replace roller weights and while in there, replace clutch and belt. I don't hear it at highway speed nor idle, but mainly at 5 to 10 mph. Sometimes hear it and sometime not. Roller weights will not leave you stranded- the only thing bad roller weights do is slow you down. The noise comes from the crankcase and I hear it when I turn left.. I rode 250 miles and still running good and than moved to Illinois and rode 120 miles and still runs good. So it is dependable still..

That washer looks right as long as there's a washer also behind that intermediate gear like this. www.partsforscooters.com/scooter-parts-diagrams/250cc-172mm-4-Stroke-CVT-Transmission-Parts_2parts 11 & 12 are the washers. I had part number 11 slip off when I took the shaft out and we had a good fight. I ended up putting grease on it, sticking it to the bearing and sliding the shaft into the washer. I see the threads broke off this time. Yes it could be a little overtightening. I used my variator tool (homemade of course) and my torque wrench to tighten that nut, also torqued the cover bolts in an X pattern to 15 lb. ft. You can't be too careful with these things, you know.

Since the noise may be connected to the slippage maybe you have something stuck in the clutch. Did you check the springs when the bell housing was off?

I looked to make sure they were all there... and they were...
I am getting some vibration on the varriator and clutch.. the belt it for sure a lil wobblely.. but everything is..
I think I have decided to baby her until the spring.. then sell and buy new one.. unless someone can tell me something to check.. maybe a bracket or somethin... I dunno

Clutches and variators are reasonably cheap. You might change them.

There's only one reason for a vibration and slippage in the driveline. Wait! It is possible that one of the rollers in the variator slipped out of position and turned causing the variator to rotate unevenly?
This system is not that complicated. A vibration and slippage is easily a bad variator, clutch or belt. If the drive side bearing was bad it would leak oil furiously so it has to be one of the other three.

It is very possible.. it did look as if the varriator was uneven and wobbeling....I will have to check.. I told myself I wasmt screwing with the varriator this time.. and didnt even pull off the back half of it at all

When u speak of the oil loss... u mean the rear gear oil right? It is holding steady

No, I mean the crankshaft that the variator is mounted on. If that seal starts leaking it gets ugly fast from a bad bearing. Don't panic about this. A whole clutch from PFS is $95.00 and the variator is $67.00. A belt is $30.00. We're not talking the National Debt. I would look long and hard at the variator. It sounds like a lot of your problems started after the first shaft. Rollers have been known to come out of place during re-assembly. A video would be very helpful.

Tomorrow or this weekend i will break into variator and check it out... thanks for advice... i am not getting any oil blow by at the crankshaft that the variator mounts on.... I think you are correct about one of my rollers, because i am hearing a strange new noise at all times... and it sounds like it is coming from there... I will shoot video of CVT before i dismantle the variator and after... THANKS agn
As for the other noise.. could it be my valves? because that noise happens when it gets warmer... cant really hear it until temp starts to read on gauge.....Like the expansion of it getting warm makes the sound more noticeable because it is messing up more...? just a thought.... but i dont know anything
