10 to 1 it is the rear tire too! What happens is the front runs over the nail and stands it up at just the right angle...then it gets run over by the rear....stabbed and as far as I know there is no defense to it at all.
(nail pointing toward you on its side, when front passes over and then hits the head it starts standing up and the rear gets there just at the right time)
Some years ago I had a shop install a new rear tire on my 1200cc bandit...50 miles and I hit a giant spike with the rear,....it went in hit the rim turned and came out on the side wall. As I remember that was a $200 and some dollar fiasco. Shops will not repair a on the road bike tire, either do it your self or replace it. Off road no problem.

I had to plug my tires several times when I rode to Brooklyn. I kept a plug kit and foot pump in my saddlebags. The Kawasaki was a nail magnet.

It held air overnite, no bubbles when I sprayed some soap on it. Well see!

Did you use the strings or the mushroom plugs? I got a nail the 1st month I had the 250, rear tire, and used the string plugs for about 4 months. Then I put some of the liquid stop leak in. Does not work well with the cement n strings.
