I just posted in General Discussion, that I have rescued Another 50cc scooter, from a RUSTY DOOM!
I figure this is a better place for a Tech Question.
This owner has ALSO, Given me the scooter. Which is just awesome! More money to spend on the Restore!
I have a question concerning the carbon canister system on this one. My other smaller framed 50cc, does not have this system on it. Is it one, LEGAL to remove, and two, will it increase/decrease power, or cause other problems? I do understand that I would have to RE-tune my carb after removing it, my MAIN worry is will it effect the oil flow of the engine? THANK YOU!!!

If it is connected to the GAS tank that is an EVAP system just to trap fumes. If it is connected to the HEAD right next to the valve cover that is a PAIR system. If it is connected to a valve on the PIPE itself that is an EGR system. Some scoots come with all three some with two some with 1 of the above mentioned emission system. If you DO NOT live in CA just rip ANY AND all emissions on a scoot they cause more problems than they are worth.
There is no loss of power or increase of power. Alleyoop

Thank you Alley! It is connected to the air intake box, valve cover, and the can is, between I believe, I will have to check. But I don't believe it is connected in anyway to the fuel system.
I think it is a PAIR, and EGR setup
Great to know that I will loose nor gain any power.
Hopefully I don't run into many snags while rebuilding this one. I like the frame, body is a Bit more bulky than my other, but I think it will make a good ride!
