Went to work this morning, no problems what so ever, absolutely fine. Got on my bike to leave work this evening, absolutely will not start, checked basics, ie..spark on plug and appears to be none.... Not to sure how to test all the other components to see what the problem is, it switches on, life in battery, fuel gauge goes up and all looks correct... Have checked to make sure the kill switch is in the right position , which it is.. Still nothing, just turns over and over...so battery is fine... Please help...I don't have a multi meter , can I test for feed anywhere and how? Don't want to buy parts on the off chance it could be something simple Thanks

Follow the Spark Plug Coil wire to the COIL and check the wires connecting to the COIL. Make sure they are not touching each other and are on and not off the connectors. Check the GROUND wire from the motor to the Frame. Also make sure the BOOT CAP that you put onto the PLUG is nice and tight, I screws onto the COIL WIRE just like a screw, turn it clockwise screwing it onto the coil wire. Other than that you will need a VOLT METER to test and find the culprit. Alleyoop

Hi Alleyoop There are two wires on the coil, one is green and one is brown..on operating the starter there is feed going to the coil through the green one which by the power of deduction means the brown one should be an earth, but when you try and earth something through the brown one it does not appear to be an earth. Have tried earthing the coil directly to the battery thinking maybe faulty earth problem, but it still does not run... All forums suggest the green is the earth on scooters, but obviously on this one it isn't ?? Could the answer be just the coil?? really don't want to buy one if its an earth problem...

Check the multiplugs on the CDI unit. I had one similar at work where one of the terminals wasn`t making a good contact. The green wire should be an earth as you say, the brown should be the pulse feed from the cdi.

Ok, lets start over and CHECK FOR SPARK at the Spark Plug, if you have a spare Spark plug just take the BOOT CAP off the one on the motor Stick the Spare Plug into the BOOT CAP Hold it against the VALVE COVER or MOTOR CASE and hit the start button. You should see if SPARKING NICE AND blushish spark.
If no Spark CHECK for a GROUND WIRE going to the MOTOR USUALLY the WIRE is attached to one of the BOLTS on the VALVE COVER and is then ATTACHED to the FRAME. Without a good ground from the motor to the frame the SPARK PLUG WILL NOT FIRE.
If you have a GOOD SPARK then we can test FUEL DELIVERY. Alleyoop

Finally sorted , seems the green wires on my bike are feeds not earths , it was the coil that had packed up, replaced it and Bingo!! roaring again ;D Once again thanks for the help

Glad to hear you resolved the problem. Green is pretty much universally ground (earth) in the industry. That is a strange anomaly with your scoot. Best of luck and have fun riding!

Yes, that is the first I heard the green was not a ground. They must of put that scoot together on a FRIDAY and you know on FRIDAYS the EAGLE FLYS. Alleyoop
