Tell me more about the tach.how hard are they to install? I want one on my scooter too. Very easy the hardest part is deciding where you want it. Naturally you would want it on front someplace so you can see your rpms as your riding. Alleyoop I put mine under my radio:

I rode in the rain...52 degrees out. Came back and my hands swelled up from being in the cold for so long o.o Now that's a real trooper!

My brother released Sulpher Dioxide gas into the house while he was taking apart lithium ion batteries. I didn't want to die!

Getting ready for a cruise. Checking tire pressure, oil levels, and getting my thermals on. Its a beautiful crisp fall day here. Highs in the 50s.

Breaking in my new high quality Chinese scooter. As I rode though the streets I kept feeling as if something or someone (spooky) was following very close behind me all the time. Come to find out it was all the leafs that have fallen from trees being churned up and swirling in the tail wind of the scoot. What a laugh!

I worked on my CF Moto 150cc today. This engine is often called the GY6 B but it is nothing like a GY6. My float bowl was running dry at extended WOT so I worked on installing an electric fuel pump today. First, I got rid of the vacuum petcock as I think they're a big problem waiting to happen. I took it off with a crescent wrench and installed a MIP fitting which I think was a 1/2. It's not a 1/2", it's the NPT system which was sent here by aliens to confuse us. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't keep the package for the size but take the old fitting to Lowe's and they'll match it up. Alley may know what it is. Then, I installed a 1/4" barb fitting and used the gasoline specific pink teflon tape. Here's a macro view with the new Briggs & Stratton valve:
Here's a closer look with the 1/4" (real inches!!) hose barb fitting:
Auto Zone had the Mr. Gasket electric pumps on sale for $40.00. There's a high flow, the lower flow which I bought, and a diesel pump. They come with a prepump filter which is the copper cylinder, and then I installed a post pump filter:
I did bolt the pump into place, I'm not a COMPLETE idiot as someone suggested recently.....just a partial. But I did use the big zip tie as a backup. Those things will crush a rock if you pull hard enough!!
Around the bend approaching the carb I used a reducer to get from 1/4" hose to 3/16" for the carb inlet. I just use two barb fittings, one male and one female, to make a reducer:
The pump draws about 0ne amp which is chump change for this scooters three phase stator. I thought of wiring it to a switch but instead spliced into the black wire that gets hot with the key on. Turn on the key and the pump starts whirring. I will of course tie all of this off better when I'm done testing. It did start and I'll take down the road tomorrow. I'll post on what happens.

Thanks Alley, it took four tries to get it through Proboards in one piece. Hey Alley, do you happen to know the fitting size for those gravity tanks? I think it's 1/2, 3/4 would be huge so I think it's 1/2 (not inches folks!).

If its the petcock type that screws onto the tank if I remember correctly it is 7/8 of an inch. You can also do it with a gas fitting and a reducer for the 1/4 inch gas hose. Alleyoop

Tell me more about the tach.how hard are they to install? I want one on my scooter too. One wire hook up. no ground lead. took a couple minutes to install. Yoops Tach/Hour looks to be the same mfg, mine came in black. Vendor sent it to me for testing. works! I sell a unit at $39. that requires a ground, not quit as nice. These are sealed units so once the battery goes toss it.

I removed my auxiliary radiator from my Pegasus. It was running a little hot in the blazing summer heat so I picked up a heater core ($20 !) from Auto Weinie and tied it to the front of the OEM with mega zip ties. I used a 3 amp fan from another project and wired it using the OEM fan circuit:
Hooking the coolant hoses together proved to be a challenge but hey, it works.
It isn't real pretty but it kept the temp gauge to just above the "C" all summer. I'll hook it back up next summer but for now it is shelved.
