When I push the starter button, it make one click then nothing. I thought it was the batter but it turns out the batter is fine. Anyone else have problems with the starter? It doesn't have a kick start so I'm stranded. Richard

I'm not sure of your level of expertise so I'll give you the short answer and if you need more details just let us know. If you're lucky it's your solenoid. The click is probably the solenoid armature engaging when you hit the starter button:
If the solenoid is shorted it won't close the contacts on the battery and starter cables. So the simple test is to "jump" the contacts for the cables by using a large screwdriver:
If the starter turns when you jump the solenoid you need a new solenoid. I'm not a big fan of this test but it's simple and it works. Obviously you need to be cautious about electrical shock, use a screwdriver with a rubber handle. It's 12 volts but quite a few amps.

It is one of TWO problems a WEAK BATTERY or a BAD SOLENOID: To find out which one it is JUMP the two Terminals on the SOLENOID if it spins your starter REPLACE the SOLENOID if it clicks jumping the SOLENOID your battery is to weak. Alleyoop
