ITs a 2010 peace motorsports (aka taotao atm 50) 49 cc scooter.
It started running sluggish, would bog down after idle at stop light. Now it won't start. I noticed a place on the top side of the carb just before the auto choke( farther toward front ),that looks like where a hose should be but I dont see any hoses hanging down. I'll take some pics and videos tomorrow.
Ive pulled the plug and checked for spark. Spark is fine Ive changed fuel filter and have fuel flow. I may have screwed something up when I took the diraphram apart yesterday,,

Thats a drain hose. Its supposed to be like that. Time to adjust the valves.
It should at least start with the diaphram messed up but it might not slide with vaccum and run with throttle beyond idle. The top of the diaphram needs to settle into the grove around the top of the carb. It might be pinched or bound under the top cap. Recheck that too. Check those valves.

Were you cleaning the carb when you were messing with your diaphragm? There's a joke there somewhere but moving on. If not clean your carb in addition to Red's recommendations.

Got it to start b it it bogs down like its flooding then really starts to pick up in revs. Almost as if it was running too rich.
Luckily this breakdown came at the cold snap that is winter and weather has been to cold to ride anyways, so I'm not at a huge loss. I took the valve cover off yesterday thinking it might be a stuck valve causing my running problems; now the valve cover leaks oil... So I gotta take care of that issue as well.
I'm almost considering doing a big bore kit on this thing while ive got some time, and a vehicle to use in my scooters down time.
This scooter is quickly becoming the beater scooter, speedo doesn't work, miles odometer doesn't work, high beam bulb blows about Every 2 weeks now, seat bucket supports (the plastic tubes that the bolts go through) are bent and broke causing a weird seating angle , and I'm missing a couple pieces of body plastics. ,

Bob, Since you have the time, I'd strip it down to the frame and rebuild it with upgrades. By the time your done, you'll know more about scooters than many.

I agree 110%! In the off season take the thing apart and put it back together. The only way to truly understand what's going on is the touch it and look at it. People fear getting under the plastic but it's not NASA under there. I tore a Bashan all the way down and rebuilt it three times. I got criticized for doing a lot of weird things to it but it's a hobby and I learned something every time. The electricals are not rocket science either, they just look that way because of all the extra connectors the Chinese put on. Just take pictures as you tear it down and we're here to help. You will not learn to work on these things by trying to peer down into the plastic and see where a wire or hose runs. Even if you don't upgrade you can get rid of the excess wires and pollution crap, and learn how these scooters work.
Did I just hijack his thread??!! What a bonehead...sorry. Bogging can be caused by too big of an aftermarket air filter. Have you changed anything like that? Vac leaks can do it too.

No you didnt hijack. I think its a vac leak. I still have a serious leak from the valve cover. I took it off and retorqued the bolts 3 times and made sure there wasn't any dirt between the surfaces.
I'm almost about to just drop the motor/tranny out od the scooter so I can put it on my work bench and better access stuff. So far all I see is one bolt near the center stand area and another bolt on the suspension as all thats holding it to the frame? (Other than all the electrical and fuel connections I need to tend to as well

I'm going to end up doing this to the JMstar 150T, I'm not happy with all the wiring problems ( no tail light and cyclops light) and I'm not used to band-aid fixes. All in accordance with a full repaint for the Spring.. I'm currently having a no start issue also but the dark caught me early so I'll check for spark in the day and pick up a 2/10/50 amp charger due to the new battery being dischaged from my new float charger...
