It is 29° now and supposed to hit 18° for a low tonight. It is supposed to be around 50° the next two days. I will be riding if I can get my scoot back together. It is sitting about 2' off the floor in my garage on my lift right now. I will be riding many times through the winter because I need groceries and meds.

The sad thing is you don't even realize how much of an idiot you make yourself out to be
Actually, he does know. It's part of his schtick. The only reason I even answer all his ridiculous statements of Japanese quality is that someone might read it and believe it. As we all know, as long as it runs, it's good. No matter where something comes from. People gathering information before buying shouldn't be fooled by fairy tales.

That's pretty cold for NYC, I grew up on Long Island. Up here it was 17* with snow on the grass and the roads a light gray with early salting. I took the car into Town. Of course now it's a blazing 25* with a wind chill of 16*. So I guess it's not too bad.

No worse than 150* in the summer keeping you indoors. Not all of us are too fragile to take a little cold.

I needed some groceries from the store today so I fired up Rocket. The temperature had soared to a blazing hot 28* from a low of 18 this morning. I relearned so many lessons. 1) don't wear nylon mesh sneakers on a motorcycle. 2) I should have worn my leather jacket. The wrist snaps keep air from pouring up your sleeves like it does with my ski jacket 3) I have warm leather mittens-use them! 4) wind chill really is exhilarating. Even at 45 mph it can make the coolest ride even colder.
I only did a modest nine miles but it's much more fun to ride than drive the car.

A friend and I were riding home one winter and the wind chill actually froze his gloves to the grips. He kept teasing me about having heated gloves. He never teased me again.

I made that mistake, sort of, last year. It was about 50* when I left for work wearing light, leather gloves. While I was at work a cold front swept in. It was about 30*, dark and windy with snow flurries. When I got home my hands were so cold it took twenty minutes for me to uncurl them and the pain from thawing was unspeakable.
Now I scan all the weather websites before I open the garage door.

It is a balmy 47°F here when I got home from running some errands. It may get nasty this weekend. I do like being able to tuck me feet in behind the floor pan to keep them out of the wind. The fingers I extend to sit on the brake lever got a little cool even in my Horrible Freight winter mechanics gloves. I am still running with my visor half open. The eyes did get a little too cool though. I had my nylon shell jacket on over a sweatshirt so my core got a little warm while in stores.
Luke, I love the butt burner. It could be dangerous if it serves as an ignition source. Being propelled up and over the handlebars could lead to loss of control in more ways than one.
