That is good to know but the prices I have seen for leather is out of reach for me.
Some experimental explorer found that the clothing worn by the Vikings worked fairly well in the North Atlantic. All those space age super materials did not work worth a damn. LOL
Edit: p.s. I visited that letherup site and noticed that jacket sizes are an Un-Scientific Wild arse Guess and LOTS of $$$. Murphy always messes with me and I am hard to fit anyway. I also checked my spelling several times and still expected to get diverted to some p0rn site.

Can they be set just to show one color?
How long do the batteries last? What type are they?

Mark- I have four white LED lights on the front of my scoot. Dual 27W LED 'spotlights' described as: High Power LED Work Lights 27W 10-30vDC 2150 lumens Spot 30degree beam Waterproof IP67, Current 2.25A @12v, 1.125A @24v 30,000+hours life, 6000K Cool White Heavy duty 4.3" Round. Dual Euro Style Motorcycle Chromed Billet Aluminum 24 LED White lamps. Generally used for Fog Lights, Blinkers, Indicators, Side Marker, or Turn Signals on motorcycles. These 'marker' lights are aimed at a slight angle outwards to 'signal' cage drivers approaching an intersection. Most Ruckus style scoots have dual ~4-1/2" round headlights. Mine originally had dual 18W halogens with dual 4W incandescent marker lights built into the housing. The lights sucked... John, those valve cap lights are interesting but I don't know about the multi-color aspect. Do they run on batteries? I have side reflectors fore and aft with a white/red reflective stripe down the sides of the floorpan. I am considering more reflective stripes but I have not convinced myself to put them on painted surfaces like fenders etc. I want to get myself one of those utility worker bomber jackets in lime green with reflective stripes also. I haven't found the right one yet and I am leery of the sizes with mail order. I am tough to fit, 6'4" tall, 210#, 50" barrel chest, and 37" waist. Normal clothing just does not fit right. I also need exercise but I have been avoiding it because if I go to the gym it will just get worse.

I installed the 1-1/8" riser blocks for 7/8" motorcycle bars. That way the bars cleared my knees.

I used $16 amber strobe flashers front and rear angled in three directions. The police were not really enthused about them because my scoot is not really a slow moving vehicle, but it is legal on a motorized 'bicycle' in Kansas......
My headlights are only legal because I fall under the bicycle lighting rules also.

It was 56°F outside today when I went for a ride at 2PM. I was dressed way warmer than I should have been, even when I was on my way back home. It is supposed to start the rain/ice/snow thing in a few hours. Scheisse...
I need to look for a better jacket to wear that has a little more wind resistance. That seems to be the important part of cycle wear. I have a snap-up coaches jacket but I need a zipper. Wearing a coat under a coat is a PITA and does not allow much strategic cooling adjustments. I will have to hit the after after Xmas clearance sales. No way am I venturing into a store this time of year. Besides, Xmas has drained my accounts and my cards are maxed out. I spent too much money on the scoot and Christmas.

As long as a scoot has some slack in the wiring, hoses, and cables, the handlebars can be raised with blocks. That is not an easy 'adjustment' by any means. All of those wires and cables, etc. going to the controls and instruments are a problem in themselves. To me they look like a major failure looking for a time to happen. Some seats like mine could be raised with blocks but it would be ugly and far from easily adjustable. I can feel the seat structure moving about under me as is. It is only a matter of time before plastic (polypropylene?) fractures.

We have brick streets here and some cobblestone but I bet it does not do much better than my R-trike. When one front wheel hits an obstacle of any sort, pothole, crack, gravel, etc etc, -the scoot pulls to one side. It is just physics. The front track is narrower than mine but the same problem exists.

That guy is just generally violent no matter what his BA tests at. He should be held in prison for the rest of his life.

I use a folding tote made in the UK on the luggage rack in back. When unfolded it opens up bigger than a milk crate. It also matches my black scoot. I got it at an office supply store. There are three #582 WALD folding baskets, one in front and two on the sides, all black. www.waldsports.com/index.cfm/store/rear-baskets/582-rear-folding-basket/I really need to get pictures of my ride with the mods posted.

I am going for a ride in a few minutes. My scoot is a real 'grocery getter' equipped with folding baskets etc for carrying cargo. Inside a nitrogen tank isn't bad. As long as you had O2 to breathe and could stand the pressure. It is room temperature inside that pressurized tank. Now taking a shower in liquid nitrogen is a bigger problem but not insurmountable. I have poured liquid nitrogen over my bare hands without discomfort or injury to prove a point to the OSHA officials. Drop some water into a hot frying pan for a similar effect. They wanted me to wear insulated gloves that would have soaked up the liquid and frozen my hand completely causing severe injuries. I gave them a few heart attacks over the years but the OSHA regs for the entire country got changed after several of my 'demonstrations'.

John recently read I had a muffler 'problem'. He contacted me with a solution that says a lot about his industry knowledge. He shipped me a great muffler that is a duplicate, but complete, of the one I have very quickly. My scoot will be quiet again!!!!
He also had hardware to help me keep my scoot in repair. I have dropped specialized fasteners only to have them bounce and roll into some alternate reality or dimension. Hardware that can't be replaced at the local hardware store. I bought a spare supply of fasteners that I needed for less than a few 'standard' type fasteners from the hardware store would have cost.
Everything came shipped to my door so I did not have to waste my time and make a $$ trip to the local store. Nobody thinks to add the cost of running to the local store to the cost of an item. It isn't just what gas costs, there is a whole list of hidden costs. Now I won't need two wrenches to remove something due to an odd replacement fastener.
I am extremely happy and I know where I will go for parts now!
Thanks for the great service and your invaluable knowledge John.
