Are The guides on the rear plate interchangeable? How are they supposed to attach? Do they need to remain fixed to the plate or can the move? I have 3 variators and two of them kind of free float in the variator and will sometimes come off when removing weights. The other they seem to go on tight but sometimes shift making the opening and closing of the variator difficult.

Some are wider than others it is a shot in the dark really unless when you buy them you can tell the width by the pictures. Some weight sets include them which is good. But they just actually push into the slot on the Variator Plate and if they do not fit nice and snug they will come off when messing with the variator. Just make sure you push them in all the way.
