Hi, new to this forum and was helping you could help me out. My speedometer stopped working in my cheap taotao 50. After some basic trouble shooting I found that the speedometer cable around where it attached to the wheel snapped(the cable part) I just electric taped it up for now. I'm A newb so excuse my ignorance but is it dangerous to ride it with that cable non attached. I have a gps speedometer so not sure if its worth replacing and suggestions would be great.

It isn't dangerous as long as it can't get caught in the rim/tire, and you have some sort of speedometer, and with the GPS, you do. So it is really up to you if you want to replace it. www.motopartsmax.com/index.php/main_page/index/cPath/12_151/bID/4/tID/3/eID/1This is the correct cable, it attaches to the bottom of the cluster, and there is a small black box, on your front wheel, where the other end screws into. I would fix it, since it's a 10 dollar cable. ;D GOOD LUCK!

Thank you. Yep that's the one. For ten dollar and a suppose I should just get it. I appreciate the response. Would this cable come lubricated or would I have to myself?

They usually come already lubed, but it would not hurt to check it and lube it if you see it is dry. No telling how long they have been sitting on the shelf and or where if not wrapped it may got some dust in it. Alleyoop
