How many things are required to put this thing up for the winter? Is it absolutely necessary to drain fuel system? I have fuel stabilizer and enzyme mixed in fuel at present, fresh engine and gear oil put in. I'll take battery in for winter. Thank you.

Hey markkwb, if you've already put gas stabilizer in and everything else is fresh, you should be good to go. Good move taken the battery out, as I have had one freeze up when the temp got below 20. Do you have a garage ?

Drain the gas, you'll be glad you did. I drain the carb and tank if I'm not going to use the bike for a month. The fuel additives help but they do not stop the degradation of the gas. Also, if your Stabil is dark red, pitch it, it's bad. Ironic, isn't it?

Here in northwest Arkansas the winter is fairly mild so I just start my moped up and let it idle a couple times a week, or whenever I'm in the garage. If its a decent day( mid 50's) I'll drive it a mile down to the store and back, so that the tires don't sit in the same spot and dryrot.
