So I have a craig list scooter I got for 150$. And the tail light is on all the time? Even with the kill switch in the off position. There is no key. and the wires(red n black) that were to the key lock/mehcanisum are striped and connected together. Only way to turn off the light is to disconnect the battery. Should i put a switch on the key wires?

Well, two things..First, is it the tail light, or the brake light? I don't know the wiring on this particular scooter, but I would pull the brake lever back and see if it comes on. If it is the brake light, you may have a stuck switch. Second, it is always better to put it right rather than just wire around the problem. That may mean that you have to buy a new lock/key set, but it also makes sure that you don't forget to turn the tail light on.. something that you might not notice until too late..
