Some of these pictures just made me grimace. I can confidently say I never did anything close to what these clowns are doing. I wonder what they wrote on their head stones.

Back 29 years ago when I thought I was immortal. I was guilty of ridding in shorts,tee shirt,teeny shoes and No helmet on a daily basses. For years. I know now looking back that only by the grace of God that I'm still here.

I had just graduated from the U of Toledo and got a gig teaching. This lady calls me up and says "first year teachers get interest free loans". Really!? My Dad said he always wanted a BMW motorcycle and said if I got one and let him ride it once in a while he'd pay for the service on it the first year. REALLY?! He could have had my left hand if he wanted it but I said sure if you let me ride your Electra Glide when you're trouncing my Beemer. So I went to the BMW dealer and the salesman said Germany is having financial problems and Munich is cutting deals like never before! REALLY!!!. So I looked in the showroom and a blue R80/7 said "Hi big boy, wanna take me home?" Uh...yeah.. So I took a brand new Beemer home." Hi baby, you look wonderful:

There's a point to this. See those great big mufflers? They get really, really, really hot!! And they're hanging out there placed just about perfect for a branding of your leg. When I saw that one dude with his bare legs it reminded me of the three second degree burns I got from those mufflers before I wised up and kept jeans on when riding. When my buddy went down on a Kawi he didn't have a shirt on and road rashed his back and right side, six week recovery. Wise up people, don't get complacent, wear at least jeans and maybe a vest. I know it's hot in the summer but burns and road rash are agonizing.
