Great, good to hear it is up and running and a happy camper. Now you can play around and unclog the fuel inlet and you will have a spare carb or use it for parts if you ever need them Ride safe Alleyoop

Re-adjusted the valves and did the unthinkable... Apparently the bolts on the head don't take much torque to break. So I have a broken stud that's flush with the surface so no needle nose. Cranked it up and its spitting oil out :l

That's why I have three torque wrenches. It's annoying replacing a head instead of listening to a torque wrench telling you to stop.
See how I learned the lesson. Now I'm ready.
And Borg, this is the crankcase that Luke keeps blathering on about. I've given up trying to explain the difference between a cylinder head and a crankcase to someone who doesn't know the difference between his ____ and a hole in the wall.

I have the bike stored at a relatives house and the weather has been too bad to drive. If im not mistaken did those bolts stick out past the cylinder when tightened down? Like to where i can get pliers and turn it out of the back of where its tightened. Its been on my mind for days

Do the bolts in the red circles protrude past the casing that tightens to? Is so I remove that black plastic casing and use pliers to rotate the broken bolt out

Those valve cover bolts screw into the head which is even with the valve cover so if the bolt is broke in the valve cover part that sticks out there will be enough to get vise grips and unscrew them out. If the bolt broke even with the head, you will need a backout driver. Alleyoop

I have the 157QMJ, any mods I can buy for it? I want to mod it while its down with the oil leak, nosense in fixing the leak to take it back apart to mod it. Price of mods shouldnt be an issue also.

At first I did then I realized that there was no reason for me to weld.

So sorry about that,,,i think alley hit it on the head as far as the broken valve cover bolt,,if it's not broken clean at the head vicegrips will extract it if it is flush it's a job for an "easy out" ,,and actually i thought for some unknown reason he snapped a head stud,,,,,i'll shut up now
