49.6 cc with a Keihin carb and a 90 main jet. If I remove the air filter cap it still runs fine with no lean bog at WOT. What in the world is going on? The 85 was a bit lean and removing the cap with the 85 in resulted in a slight bog at WOT but how can this little motor of mine be jetted so high?
Now the stock carb was a Deni and came with a72 main....

Well if it is running rich it could be getting extra fuel from the VACUUM line, and or the ENRICHER is not shutting off. Also putting in #90 in a stock motor WOW!! now that is a no brainer. Alleyoop

I should rephrase my topic line to why am i not running rich?....I had no choice. Youve seen the plug picture and its definitely not rich looking. Was doing some trial and error to see if it was a lean knocking condition I was hearing so thats why I went up to a 90 but the plug is still not looking dark or tan. Even if the enricher was sticking and still running a 90 it should fall on its face no? I have an extra enricher and swapped it out and it seems to work the same. The only thing i can think of of its a 63cc in there but cant understand why the factory would put in a 72 main on the stock Deni carb if it was a 63...there is no vacuum line going to my carb. Its a gravity fed fuel system as well.

Yes but a gravity fed system is connected to a standalone petcock or a petcock which is attached to the ank EITHER way they use VACUUM to open the diaphgram and allow fuel to flow. Or do you have a SHUTOFF VALVE? Even for a 63 a #90 is way to big a #90 will go on a 83cc maybe even a 72cc. I think your checking the plug at the wrong time BRO. There is no way that thing is running lean with a #90, maybe your reading the jet wrong or something. I could maybe see a #80 in there don't forget it came with a #72 most will put in a #75 and we are talking STOCK. Alleyoop

Doesn't the factory cast cc numbers on the cylinder base?,, might be worth a look,,

Is the scooter running good?? Leave it alone. Gordon Jennings, a great moto-journalist, once said. "Never say anything about a motorcycle where it can hear you." No one ever asked him why, we all knew.

I should rephrase my topic line to why am i not running rich? Um yeah, I finally got to this thread and couldn't wait to find out why you weren't wealthy yet TW, and discovered we were talking about fuel mixtures! Honk shoo guys, honk shoo. And you guys can stifle the comments about my emoticon also.
