I have a zuma 2 stroke that is getting too much fuel while trying to start. Sparkplug comes out soaked after trying to start it. I recently cleaned the carb and installed new jets. It almost started after I adjusted the lean rich screw I turned it all the way in then backed it out 1 and 3/4 turns and kept adjusting out from there. Still a soaked plug. What am I missing here to get this thing to start?

Have to ask what size JETS did you put in? It could be you put in a to a big PILOT JET. Normally the PILOT JET should not be changed only the MAIN JET unless of course you big in a GOOD size BBK then it may need ONLY the NEXT size PILOT JET. Alleyoop

Both were the stock jets. I did notice on the replacement jets that the main was smaller than the one in there originally. As for the float sticking, once I rebuilt the jets, that the carb was overflowing and I disconnected the fuel line for right now. The kit came with a new float needle, so I changed that as well. Maybe the float is stuck open and getting too much fuel. What about the lean screw, where should should I start with that? All the way in and back it out.

Here read how a 2 stroke carb works and how to adjust it. If your getting to much fuel the AIR SCREW has to be turned out COUNTER CLOCKWISE to allow more air. There is no adjustment for the amount of fuel on those carbs just AIR. The fuel flow amount from the PILOT JET is constant. scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/7678/2ts-carb-tuningAlso here is how to set the float: To test it before you put it back together do this: Put a piece of hose on the FUEL INLET and blow into it and GENTLY PUSH the float as you hold it like in the picture it should stop the air your blowing into the hose when it is a hair past the level in the picture. seeyouas
