It was all cosmetics that broke on the scooter, in a windstorm. It was that a new windshield, new mirrors, helmet cover, ect.. starts adding up. Insurance covered it.

It is the 7th year of riding this Chinese scooter. Still running great and still no problems except for regular maintenance. The seat I will recover, next year. It has shocked me, that it has run so good when everyone elses scooters have given so much troubles. Most trips are about 6 to 8 miles- go to store, get something to eat, ect.. Than there are about two or three trips per year of 250 miles each. It adds up to about 1200 miles per year.

About the only thing that was not regular maintenance, was in the first 10 months, that starter went out. Than at about 14 months later, the second starter went out. The third starter is still working fine. I than had the rear tire changed by Goodyear.. Goodyear had no special tools and bent the rim. So I ordered a new rim and had Honda change it. That was not Roketa's fault that Goodyear bent the rim. And when blown over in a windstorm, was not Roketa's fault. It was fully insured so the insurance covered it + cost to have a mechanic work on it. Mechanic from Honda said $75 per hour x 4 hours. So that is the price quote I gave my insurance company. I found out several things that make it easier to work on. Like a fuse comes loose every so often, valve adjustment is easier when engine is not idling, it is best using synthetic oil, change brake fluid every two years, check hoses every year, adjust carb every year, change fuel filter every year, change spark plug every year, change antifreeze every 2 years.
When I first bought my scooter, I rode around the block and the counter broke. My fault, because I loosened it up seeing if it was tight or not. Forgot to retighten before riding. So I to approximate my riding during the first year. Rode from Slater MO to Marshall MO ( 15 miles there and 15 miles back). 30 miles. 3 miles to Casey's and back home. The first year, I figured around 1400 miles. The actual miles on the scooter is 5516... Not accurate milage due to rode for 1 year. In 3 years time had 2800 miles on it but first year was approx. 1400 miles not calculated so would be 4200.. Really sure, there is no point in fibbing.

Are you going to drive a car, even if the speedometer is broke- or are you going to park it? The speedometer being broke is not going to affect the engine on a scooter nor a car. Just ride the speed of traffic and cops will not bother one. I could sit there with a drill and count up the milage as well, to say 1400 miles more. But really I am a honest person and figure if sold it, would inform a person of the 1400 extra miles on scoot before taking money. It does me no good to say it has 1400 extra miles then speedometer reads. Think about it. It is a 2007 model.

Glad to hear the insurance company did there job and fixed the stuff from a wind storm. Sounds like the scooter has been good to you just a couple of starters when bad. Wonder why? Have fun and be safe.
