solid state means its all electronic and probably using transistors (what doesnt anymore?). the regular kind of flasher uses a bimetallic strip and a set of contacts

Educate me John. Solid state vs It wires differently , it gives a constant flash then the switch flips it to power the light . Its about the same size as a boch relay . I can post a picture of it this evening . John
