You could always use one of Luke's lines. "It must be better because it costs more."

Here, it was damn near 70 today. Supposed to be the same tomorrow. Then, we're in for another 5" of snow and a 30 degree high on Wednesday. I'm with ya lantern. I've about had my fill of this winter crap.

Maybe you mentioned it before, cyborg, but what kind of speeds are you hitting with your Vespa?

it's real comfortable 50-55mph and pulls a decent hill doing it,,on my long shakedown ride i hit a long mile to mile and a half flat straight i hit 76 indicated flat out with just a little bit left,, it was still climbing but it was running out of steam,,so i figured with the gauge being optimistic an honest 65-68 mph ,,i'm pleased,,,and my mileage is better than i expected

I'm headed out to some county roads in the morning. I stuck to the neighborhood earlier. I let it sit for hours at ambient temperature before touching the valves. I checked the temp on the head, and the oil temp. Once they were down to the ambient temperature, I let it sit for two more hours. I figured then it was safe to fix my valves. If something goes bad, then KZ owes me an "I told you so." After I got my valves where they need to be, I went a little further, to the grocery store, dealing with a little traffic. The difference in performance was incredible! I'm not sure I've mentioned it before, but I'm a brand new rider. I took the MSF course about a year and a half ago. That's the extent of my riding experience. Today was my first time on the road on two wheels. I didn't get into anything too crazy, but I was surprised at how little it freaked me out. In fact, it didn't feel strange to me at all. Given the length of road and the super-low miles on my scooter, I wasn't able to, nor did I want to, go any faster than about 35 MPH. In the morning, I'm headed out for ride time alone. I'm satisfied with stop and go, starting and stopping. I want to see what happens after 20 minutes at sustained speed. I've already scouted a couple good roads. I'm gonna get out of town and then cruise at about 40 MPH for as long as possible. Honestly, I don't even want to go much faster than that until I start building a little riding skill.
