Well I finally got to stretch out the vespas legs today,,, thought I'd stop and drop a line in the middle of a hundred miler,,, I must say this Italian job does it nicely,,,, more to come I'm sure,,, good fun

Just got back ,,, 110 miler not too bad,,feels good,,,as you know i've been rippin this thing around my parking lot at my studio,,,so i gave it a good once over,,,checked everything,,,tires woefully down,,front 26lbs,,,rear 21lbs,,,,,set them to the recommended 40,,,MAN what a difference!!!! Good blast today no hitches runs perfectly,,,,after 80 of my miles + the 88 original + 12 in my lot,,,,180 total i hit a straight 1 to 1.5 level mile stretch of road and opened her up to see what she would do,,,and went a speedo indicated 76 mph so i figured having an optimistic gauge 65-68ish actual,,,and i wasn't tucked in either,,,not too bad for a 150 thats not really broken in yet,,,,,,all in all i give the machine a solid 9 on the fun factor,,,oh and i did take KZ's advice on the sea foam treatment ,, got some at napa auto,,,,HOLY SH!T !!!! $14 a pint!!!!!,,,,i thought to myself man this stuff better work or somebody's got an a$$kickin commin,,,but a very noticeable difference,,,smoother ,,,idles better ,,,and it was not even a half tank of fuel used yet,,,(thank you KZ good call),,,so i'm solidly hooked and i feel i'm a scooterist now,,i wasn't sure but this ride today sealed the deal,,,smiles all around,,,,  |

Welcome to the club. Man, that thing is fast. Vespas have a good reputation for longevity. You'll be commuting on it for a very long time.

I was in AutoZone yesterday getting all the oil I expect to use for the break in and couldn't find any SeaFoam. When I went to check out, I found out why: they had it all stacked up by the registers because it was on sale for almost half off. I got a bottle for $7.99. I'm not sure if that's just a local thing or not. Might be worth looking into. Congrats on the fun ride man. I'm solidly jealous. I'm happy to hear it was awesome!  |

I have a choice of NAPA, Advance Auto and KMart. When one of them has it on sale I nab a bottle. The cheapest I've gotten it for so far is $6.99. Watch this site every month too. www.napacircular.comThey have Mobil 1 cheap sometimes. |

$6.99 man i just got broomed hard,,,but i'm glad you suggested it and also i bought it,,i'll keep my eye on it and get it if and when they're on sale,,,,also i found out that napas synthetic is valvoline made so i run that and watch sales,,,i get it for $3.40 a quart ,,so i grab a case or two,,,we just had an autozone and a new advance auto move in so i'm going to be watching the ads

Yes, he rode his ITALIAN scooter over 100 miles. Thank heavens it wasn't Japanese or he would have ridden straight to a trailer store.
