Twist and go is great, for riding around town. BUT, when the urge hits you to do a cross country, a larger bike (one ya gotta actually shift) is the only way to go. I'm guessing I've put more cross country miles under me than around town miles. I'll never forget the time I was riding my GL1200 thru Az, (by way of Colo, Calif, NM, Tx back to Colo) at 102F, full face helmet, feet on the hiway pegs (I had 2 of em then; feet that is, and, yea, hi way pegs too) and the American and POW flag flying in the breeze, open road, mountains all around, sun shining down on ya, just you and the road. That is a feeling you'll never experience on a twist n go around town. So, yea, is a perspective thing. Ride Safe Dave

I realize that you still have your health, and all your appendages, but, some of us don't and need the stability a trike offers. I realize I can buy a Burgman, Silverwing, or a Majesty, and add a trike kit, but the end cost is gonna be +/- $10K. To me, that isn't cost effective. So, who makes a ready to ride, outa the box, affordable Trike? The Americans? The Japanese? The Italians The Taiwanese? No. OK, time for the test. Good Luck Dave

But, yea, some day I wanna ride with ya, and compare Asian experiences. I ride by myself now also. I've done plenty of road/cross country trips with a group, and alone, and, other than the safety in numbers thing, I prefer to ride alone. Now, day rides with a group of friends, (in this case, the Rocky Mountain Sabres, aka RMS) thru the Rocky Mtns, that's different. That's fun. But, to stay on track, I'm not sure this would be a good starter bike. If you wanna stay small (250) me thinks a Honda Rebel or similar bike, would be more appropriate. Then, if the urge is still there, get something bigger/new(er) and go from there. Just my $.02 Dave

buy them used...i remember KZ posted a Craigslist link about a 2011 suzuki Burgman 400n for sale for only $2,500...i actually emailed the owner and offered to buy it for $1600,, he replied and said he can only go down to $2,000...i mean, a 2011 burgman for only $2k?? can't beat that... if i didn't have 2 morphouses, i would've bought it in a heartbeat.,,there are few deals in CL that doesnt come everyday, you just have to scout around. Taiwanese makes good quality scoots, with decent price.,trike kit might go down in price., i'm a Craigslist creeper, so i know what the best deals around are. it's the determination dave, it's the determination! remember that!!

I thought of used, but I don't like buying others peoples old stuff. Stuff they may not have respected. I'm a semi hoarder. I seldom sell anything. I keep my cars, I've kept my bikes, I've got stuff from my military days over 40 years ago..Yes, CL can be a nice place to find some good deals. Am looking for an engine for a 96 Mustang. Now, determination. That's something that NO ONE will EVER experience more than me. Meaning, try losing a fuggin leg at 63, and still get up the determination to ride, skull, do archery, swim, rock climb, sledge hockey, become a VA certified limb loss counselor, and much more. that takes determination my friend. (and Alley can testify to that too, with his own personal challenges.) But, who makes a ready to ride trike? And, to keep on track, let's try some other alternatives for a first bike. Thanx Dave

i'd say, Spyder, bombardier makes them, the first released unit was in 2008 if im not mistaken, selling nowadays for 7-8K in CL., it was the famous classic yellow spyder trike that we see around.,and the silver gray ones.

wright now i ride alone 100% of the time, yuma is dry, no one even owns a scooter, just me yuma.craigslist.org/mcy/4360813613.htmland these guys yuma.craigslist.org/search/mca?zoomToPosting=&catAbb=mca&query=scooter&minAsk=&maxAsk=&excats=i remember KZ posted a Craigslist link about a 2011 suzuki Burgman 400n for sale for only $2,500...i actually emailed the owner and offered to buy it for $1600,, he replied and said he can only go down to $2,000...i mean, a 2011 burgman for only $2k?? can't beat that...So what you're saying is that a Japanese scooter that cost over $6000 new isn't even worth $2500 after two years? See, you proved my point about Japanese scooters. It wasn't worth much to the owner and it wasn't even worth that much to you. All it was worth was $1600? Oh man, I'm so glad I bought Chinese scoots. Imagine the beating I'd take on depreciation on a worthless Japanese scooter.
