While changing the oil in my scooter today, I noticed that my rear wheel has some lateral play in it. It is very minor, but is this normal? Seems like it should only move forward and backward. It is torqued to specification.

if its torqued, then it shouldn't move. could be your drive axle/ shaft bearing.
are you sure your whole engine isn't moving? could be shock mount bushing or front mounts

if its torqued, then it shouldn't move. could be your drive axle/ shaft bearing. are you sure your whole engine isn't moving? could be shock mount bushing or front mounts 2nd this , sometimes if you look carefully you may be able to determine if it is the wheel bearing or the axle bearing . If the whole wheel and axle moves it is the axle bearing , if the axle does not move then it is the wheel bearing . I would retorque the wheel just to be sure it did not back out . We had the nut comming loose because of the wheel bearing being seized . John |
