A month back I opened my cvt case and a small spring fell out on the floor.

Alley, I think he was asking whether a little spring was in that indicated hole.

MXMATT, Is that the CVT COVER if so Take a picture of the whole cvt cover. I have never seen a small spring on the 150s other than the ones in the picture I put. And here is a video on how to align the gears. alleyoop

Sorry I have no idea why that little hole is there where the big gear shaft fits in. The only thing I can think why a spring would be in there is to put pressure on the shaft to push it back into place because that gear should always be behind the Crank Starter Gear. So if its a small spring that fits in that little hole I would put it in.
The way it works is when you Kickstart that big gear moves out and engages the gear on the crank and it supposed to retract back. So maybe the spring always has pressure on the shaft to make sure the whole shaft is pushed back. Alleyoop
