So back up two weeks ago when i was ready to chop the vespa up for firewood,,,stalling, stumbling ,,misfiring, backfiring,,,tore it all apart went thru the carb 3 times ,,thought it was the vacuum valve sticking open,,,float needle not doing it's job,,,,,,could not figure it out for the life of me,,,,,,then out of the blue it would purr like a kitten run perfectly,,,then i went thru the electrical thinking it was a bad connection,,,plug not seated,, ground not tight,,bad plug,,,,i got nothin,,,the thing just ran like a top looked at me and grinned,,,my wife was gettin the rubber room all ready for me,,,i hate the mystery intermittent problems,,,can you tell? ,,,so i went for a fairly long blast today and finally the gas gauge was gettin low and the light flickered on and off then it just stayed on,,,so i filled up,,,problem came back,,,30 miles from home,,, wonderfukingful ,,, so happy,,,then it hit me,,,alley had mentioned on another thread about over filling and getting gas into the evap recovery system,,HE WAS RIGHT!!!!!,I LOVE YOU MAN!!!!!!! this could be the start of a very interesting BROMANCE!!!!!!!!

FANTASTIC!! Glad it was a simple fix. If I where you I would take the troublesome EVAP off completely. Just take the Vent hose from the gas tank and put a fuel filter on the end of it and zip tie it higher than the where it is coming on the gas tank. Then Plug up the Vacuum hose at its ORIGIN going to the canister and take the hose going to the air box or airtubing off and plug up the connector there and pull the whole thing off. You will have less clutter less hoses less chance of vacumm problems and no problems overfilling it a little and it will always vent. Alleyoop

Ride on vespa ride on glad it was a simple fix for you. How many miles do you get to a gallon of gas just wondering. I am thinking that all these scooter 200cc and under are one gallon tanks.
