Last year I rescued a kitten, turned out to be a girl. They never offered the spay clinic in the fall & she was way too young when they did the spring clinic, have to be 4 months old here. Last night she had kittens, in a box of my Dragonlance books. 1 solid black, 1 calico & 3 that look to be grey & white.

nice kittens....you remind me of McCalli, a lady member here and on the other professor forum, she has a lot of cats and kittens inside her house, like 30 of them. she even made a little makeshift house for them beside her house, where her scooter was parked, and the gas is leaking...gosh! i think the Humane Society went to her house to check because the some neighbors told them about the cats situation. www.catforum.com/

Don't worry about Luke, I doubt he could ever say anything that would really tick me off. The things that push my buttons are well-kept secrets and only my best friend knows what they are, not even my family knows, lol. And if my opinionated family can't get ya riled up, then nobody can.

Hey, I was serious. After what I suffered at the tongue of my now-ex husband (happily divorced since 2008), it'd be hard to find anyone who get really get me riled up. He was so cheap we only had 1 car and he controlled it. So I took the city buses to go shopping and all, he got off work early one day cause equipment broke down, came home and I was 10 min late from when the bus usually got to our stop. He saw the bus when it came & he still accused me of screwing the driver, just cause I told him "bye". Day I got the courage to tell him "piss off & go to HELL" changed my life, just wish it had happened sooner, but that's life. But yeah, I'm easygoing, laid back old country girl, but according to both of my son's friends, I'm a cool mom. It's nice when the barely legal to drink crowd (half my age, lol) don't mind me & even invite me to go out with them. Last group event was to take over our local small town movie theater for the premiere of Captain America : Winter Soldier. We're planning another takeover for Godzilla, Transformers, & Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the stuff I grew up on, brought to big screen.

Good that you were able to get out of that miserable(if i may say) relationship. So you got the custody of your children? good! ,,did he re-marry? haven't heard from him? sorry im a little gossiper. he was cheap on you and even suspected you of flirting with that bus driver? that's too much. The purpose of a husband is to provide and make the wife happy. well happy that you're free now and happily divorced. jizz, can'r believe a hubby can do that to her wife and the person he signed up with. anybody here who has an interesting divorce story to share? feel free...
and you..quit moving threads!!!.... divorced topic "moved to" Two stroke discussions...lol

kids were grown when we divorced. don't get me wrong, he was a wonderful husband for the first 10-12 yrs. but after my parents died, he became controlling and possessive. I took him to the bank because when we had our first kid we both wanted me to stay home with the kids, so I seldom worked. I got half his retirement because of that. He did remarry, just a few months after our divorce was final. But then he became the one being ordered around, karma is a real bitch. She made more money, had a career & not just a job like him. She controlled the money too, even his paycheck.
He tries to chat with our boys on FB but neither one really wants anything to do with him. The few times they have talked to him, all he ever wanted to do was whine about his problems. Didn't care if they went to college or nothing. Oldest boy asked him for advice on a car, he wanted to complain about having to drive a clunker.
I really don't know what happened to him. He went from a wonderful husband & father to a real self-centered prick. I have him blocked on FB and although he has tried to call me, I blocked him & his family, except for one brother who agrees me with & moved to a different state to get away from his family.

Well, my kittens are mostly doing good. Had a huge scare for a few days with the runt. He got a small cut near his left eye and ended up fighting an infection that led to seizures for a couple days. But hasn't had one in almost a week now so vet thinks he will be fine but I will most definitely be keeping him now, just in case he has problems later in life. I have 2 calico girls - Tasha & Pepper. Golden tabby female - Tika. Gray & white tiger male - Tanis. And the runt is a silver-tipped black male I named Loki. All the kittens have greens eyes. Tika & Tanis were named for characters from the Dragonlance series of books cause they were born in a box of them. Had to throw a couple away cause Momma shredded them. Loki, Pepper & Tasha were named from Avengers. Yes, I'm a huge sci-fi/fantasy book buff & LOVE Marvel universe. I even write Marvel fan fiction on Archive of Our Own (AO3). My oldest son is gonna take Tasha and I may end up keeping the others, if I can't find them good homes I will keep them because I refuse to send any animal to the pound (ours has a 90% kill rate for dogs & 95% kill rate for cats). You can see pixs of the kittens on my photobucket. s67.photobucket.com/user/genseeker13/library/Kittens%20born%20April%2010%202014?sort=3&page=1

Scary thing happened again tonight, little Loki had another seizure. Last one was May 31 but he'd been sick & running a fever so we thought that was what caused them. Unfortunately, vets want $75 for regular exam & say he would prob need specialized tests costing a few hundred more. Living on disability, I just don't have that kind of money to spare. I have no idea what triggered this seizure either, he was just laying on the back of the couch and fell off. I don't know if he fell because he was starting to seize or if he started because he fell. Regardless, it lasted less than 1 min and he seems fine now. My son wanted Loki to be his cat but with the seizures, he will have to be mine. I can adjust my life to care for him far more easily than a man in his early 20's.

Mammals all have the same diseases. So a cat can have all of the problems humans can, including epilepsy. We had a Cockatiel we adored and after age 15 he got chronically ill. He had a GI problem that I think was gall bladder. The vet told me some birds have a gall bladder and some don't but I'm pretty sure he did. Anyway, he lived to 20 which is ripe for a Cockatiel. But we discussed many times what would we spend to save Binky and could not come up with a figure, he was too dear to us. Luckily it never came to that and he just passed away one day in my wife's arms. If you think that wasn't a heart twister. But you have to be practical as much as possible. Are you really going to help the animal by paying out a small fortune and the odds are it won't change anything? I think it's better sometimes to leave them be and let nature take it's course. Rich

Yeah, even if it is epilepsy I couldn't afford to buy meds every month and the seizures last less than 1 min. I simply place him beside me and stroke him gently until it passes. He'll lay there quietly as he comes back to himself but after about 15 mins he's back to being a normal energetic kitten. He doesn't seem to recall them at all. I have found that he is both hungry & thirsty right after a seizure so I make sure he has food & water available.
Needless to say, I've been reading up on cats with epilepsy. Many people say even with meds daily the cats still have seizures. All recommend having at least water available afterwards, most say have high protein food also. Saw a couple people recommend giving them a little omega3 fish oil, that's fairly inexpensive and I can buy gel caps & puncture them to give him the oil. The fish oil won't hurt him and at a minimum, he'll have a pretty coat.
Right now poor Loki is curled up next to me sleeping. Think he had another seizure while I was outside at the clothesline. Pepper is curled up with him, I've noticed she seems to stick close to him after a seizure, like she's comforting him. The adult cats are all more gentle with Loki versus the other kittens, i'm sure they know something is wrong with him.
Had a couple people say I should just put him down if I can't afford to have a vet see him. Told them they were idiots, he has a healthy quality of life otherwise. If he ever gets where he is suffering, yes, then I will put him down.
Had a boxer way back in 2000/2001 that had heartworms when I got her. Checked with 3 vets & they all said treating her was just as likely to kill her as cure her because she had them so bad. Had her for 18 months before she began to have difficulty breathing due to the heartworms and she had to be put down. But during that time, she was loved on by not just me, but my whole family. Most my nieces/nephews were elementary school and younger and they all adored Missy. Even my dad cried when we had to put her down and he wasn't much of an animal person.
