I'm thinking I need a new exhaust gasket for my 300cc 1P73MN Linhai (Yamaha 250). I've looked and looked and can't find the specific reference to the engine and exhaust gasket. And, short of calling Jim, and interrupting his Sunday dinner, I'd thought I'd just post here. I need the gasket where exhaust pipe connects to the exhaust manifold/engine. Seems to be blowing air. I've fixed the exhaust leak where the exhaust pipe connects to the muffler, where it's got that screen woven thingy. Pulled loose, but got it fitted back in, some special exhaust glue stuff, and a better clamp. I tried Scrappydog but couldn't find an exact reference. Me guessing it's 'just like the one for a ?' but I don't know what, (But alley will) and Jim of course So, those parts dealers, get the parts book out and scream at me Thanx Dave

Got the crush gaskets in the mail today Before I put it in, thinking of switching to a single better perf exhaust, but not wanting to rework the carb (cause it's a PITA to get to having to remove all that body kit)
Just super pleased with scooterparts4less.com

JB probably woulda worked better My concern now, is the thickness of the header pipe, it looks really thin. Hopefully the welder doesn't F it up At least I know what it is, cheap fix and easy re-install, with a new gasket. We'll see on Mon Happy Easter everyone Dave

Maybe you can ask him to build you a new pipe which are thicker by the way. I had my HOTROD buddy make me a complete header pipe and bigger from 1" to a 1 1/4 inch pipe Alleyoop

So, i took the exhaust pipe and broken collar down to the local car repair/muffler shop, and they made it appear to be a major process, as best as my Mexican understanding is. Wanted me to being in the exhaust manifold. I explained it was a scooter, and he insisted I bring in the manifold so he could make sure it was on straight Next stop, Iron Pony. A huge MC dept store. Sells everything from helmets to Indians. The service dept guy had no idea what I was talking about, then said they didn't have a welder. I asked what they would do if I bought a scooter from them, and had this happen? Of course, they'd order a new one, as no one ever fixes anything in today's society. www.ponypowersports.com/showcaseproductslist.htm?Brand=468&Type=1786Next, right next door, Scooter Powersports store (aka CF Moto store) Sure thing, I'll have my welder check it out and fix it. Course, it may take a couple days, but, as long as i can ride next weekend. So simple, but oh so difficult www.partsforscooters.com/180-146-Exhaust-Pipe-Gasket?sc=38&category=138807&whence=Alley Does it make a difference if I use the copper crush gasket or this 'other'one? I got the copper one, this other one/type 2, only costs 2.99, but 6.00 to ship
