I believe those are your rist pins burt. That rounded piece in the piston goes on your connecting rod and those clips have a spot on both sides to hold it together. If your doing a rebuild you might want to just go ahead and also purchase the bearing for the connecting rod. Hope that answers your question good luck burt.

Also don't forget to use motor oil when putting the piston onto the jug. If you don't you could take a chance of scoring the walls and spending more money to replace the sleeve also.

Yes i know about the clips. the problem im having is trying to locate where that pentagon shaped spring/ring goes. You can see it in the above picture behind the piston rings it's slightly smaller than the rings much thinner and does not reach all the way around ?

i'm sure it's the oil scaper ring and sits in the groove under the bottom ring,,,i would call the guys at scooter dynasty,,,to double check,,,also the rings have to be oriented so the T or J is up,,,but i would give them a call

well i put it in the bottom slot i was just not sure if it went in the top or bottom slot. its a very nice kit i understand that this kind of work is normally carried out by a qualified installer, but they ain't they are sold to consumers and are installed by consumers. i have done everything to my bike myself and have found it ok. you do hit little snags like this though due to not having any installation instructions or a guide. i bought a top perf trophy kit in the past that had a guide ie torque settings etc. nothing from naraku what so ever blank box one little guide wouldnt hurt
