I've noticed that ever since I got my scooter out of storage, it has been close to impossible to close my seat..I thought that it might have something to do with the fact that I ran my 12v outlet wires up through my seat and the seat would hit the wires as it went down, obstructing the latching mechanism. I seriously had to push with ALL my might to close the seat. It was THAT bad. Sometimes I considered not closing the seat at all..
SO I went through the trouble of taking my seat out, pulling the wires out of the battery bay, and re-running the wires through where the underseat light should go. Went to close it, and once again I was greeted with needing to push with all my might to close my seat..
So, WHY was this happening..Suddenly an idea hit me that might just be crazy enough to work! I pulled out my can of mystery liquid and gave the latch a spray, and WALLAH! It was working perfectly again.
What was in the can you may ask?
Spray lubricant.
Try the simplest of solutions first (not that I minded rerunning the wires, they needed to be rerun anyways, they were being crushed)! smiley-alien011

Glad that was an easy fix for you. Sometimes that's all you need.
