When I put the headstock bearings in I misplaced the plastic zip lock that had the windshield screws in it. I been riding with out a shield till I get around going to the hardware store. Tonight it was really windy and gusting bad and I was really surprised how polite the majesty handled. I have both a stock and a givi, the givi is the one I had been running with and is 5" longer than stock. Tonight it would have been a real handful with the side gusts. I just may ride a while longer with out. The givi is a big sail on a majesty.
Since I added a lot of padding to the seat and put risers on the bars it is a whole lot more comfortable. With those mods it would take a really big windshield to do any good so I may just cut one down and leave it be. I rode for years with out a windshield and I like it as long as it isn't raining. What I don't like is getting blown all over the road. With such a low center of gravity a majesty is easy for the wind to push around.

I have a small, almost cafe racer, windshield for summer riding on my 250, and wear a modular full face, so I can use the visor to control the wind on my face. If the weather looks like rain for a few days, I put my larger, wintertime shield on. If you have access to some lexan, you might experiment with building some shorter windshields. The large ones can be big sails in the wind..

If the wind ever dies down I will put the stock one on and try it. I would need to add probably 5 or " to the givi to be effective so I probably won't use it again. They sure don't help when its windy. US weather says gusts to 28 today and that isn't even close to what it was this morning. I picked up new screws to replace what I misplaced yesterday. Will be going back out riding later with out the shield again today.
On the smaller scooters, 150 and 180 I never even thought about putting one on as the top speed was just over 60 and the lost of handling to me isn't worth it. If you tend to ride in the rain it might be another story though, in fact mighty nice!
Maybe some day they will come with a convertible like on a helmet that you can pull up or down depending on weather.

Movable shields on small scooters would be pretty nice, but I haven't seen it yet. The Burgman 650 has one, I think, and more cruisers are getting them. the closest I've got to doing that is to make some lexan strips in 3" x 14" to double stick to the top edge of my shields to change the wind flow. One of these days, I should try making a slide channel so that at least 6" movement is possible.. Most of my riding is <> 45 to 60mph.
