Would you please tell me if you made this statement?
If you did then I in no way misquoted you? Maybe didn't understand your intent but not a misquote. Hard to misquote a copy and paste from your post?
I also don't quite understand this? I agree with the statement that one can expect to do the PDI and need mechanical skills which basically means if you can work on a lawn mower you can work on a scooter, not rocket science?
But then you come back and make this statement?
If by your statement I have the mechanical skills I'm not going to ever need a shop to fix my China scooter but can one say the same thing with the EFI system on the newer Kymco scooters? My reference to links to other forums for name brand was meant simply to point out that people come to those forums to get help too just like they do for Chinese scooters and if one thinks that name brand scooters don't have problems then they aren't being realistic?
Warranties don't last forever even on a name brand scooter and the day comes if you have limited mechanical skills then you are then at the mercy of paying what name brand shops charge and that can run high. Since there are so few c\shops that works on Chinese scooters one can expect to pay only for the parts when they work on them. Got a friend that is a mechanic at a Honda dealership, shop labor per hour = $85 and hour = $100 oil change, ouch!
Myself I'm not ignoring any facts? This is one of those age old subjects like the ones you see about "what kind of oil to use" "ethanol or no ethanol" Chinese or non-Chinese, it'll always be a topic for debate. Debates are formed and made by opinions, some based on fact, some based upon speculation, some based on preferences, some based on nothing more than your right to an opinion, that's why we have free speech, simple as that.
To me it all adds up to what you want to spend, what you want to fix or not fix and as long as you like it, what others think about it doesn't really matter.

I wish it were only $85 an hour,,, I still wouldn't pay it,, and being at the mercy of the coconuts at the vespa shop ( or the Betty crocker school of enlarged anuses,, I just think they are so cute in the little smocks), crazy parts counter prices,,, I'll do it myself thank you very much,, save a ton o dough,,, and knowing it's done correctly,,,

JR your last post is a diversion. I just looked at this post again and the first quote, the one you asked if I wrote is incomplete you left off the part I had the problem with. You did a "convenient" copy and paste. I never expected that sort of thing from you. I started that previous post by saying I agree to disagree on most of this. With that I'm out of the argument you are continuing to make ,you are an intelligent man who knows what "agree to disagree" means. As far as your contention that you never misquoted me. You said i made the comment that people "ONLY" come hear when they have a problem when i clearly never wrote those words. Please show me where I said "ONLY". I never wrote it. Your post claims I did. Ok if not a misquote it's putting words in my mouth. Still not how gentleman interact. Have an outstanding day. Be Big, AMAC

Sir you're the one dancing around with your words, this is your statement to the letter and the implications are simple and obvious, if people come to these forums before they buy they more than likely will not buy a scooter they have to wrench on they will pay more and let someone else do it, this is a opinion and everyone may or may not share that opinion, now did you say putting words in one's mouth? Yes I'm intelligent enough to "read between the lines"
Now I did say "only" so being that's my opinion I'll live by my own contentions and that may or may have not been too broad of a term so I'll rephrase it like you said "many" . Many covers a very broad spectrum when considering the number of people on the planet and the number of people who own scooters. The word in front of many "great" in the English language used here is a adjective which would even make many lean to "only"

JR say what you will but you chose to edit my words to fit what you wanted to say at the moment and that sir is dishonorable . Only now you post the remainder of my comment. "A great many" is far different than "only come here". Had you posted it in the first place I'd have nothing to say. A rather journalistic approach to say the least but even a tabloid has the decency to add the ... In place of the missing words. Now you read between the lines and read my mind to fit your position. You may say I'm dancing but I did no "reading between lines" I took all statements at face value. You edited a quote to fit your needs, period. Good day.

Edited my posts, your posts? That's stepping across the line in the sand. Also you want to give me a lesson in decency and gentleman approach just because I haven't agreed with what you say? Not one place here where I questioned your honor and done what you're doing here, again stepping over the line.
So let's just look at another quote of yours;
Most of these forums? Now had you said IMO a lot of these forums agree but the way you posted this is telling all of us what people on forums think, you don't have a clue as to what everyone thinks? The words here don't reflect only your opinion but you're saying your statement is true but if someone wants to disagree then you mount up this dishonorable defense BS?
It all adds up to one thing, people who think one thing is better than another and some who can read it, not be offended by it, and when they dish it out can take it in return.
Now I have no problem with your opinion about scooters, I don't agree with it all and last time I checked I have that right just as you have the right to what you think but don't put it in a way that you're putting a label on me for what I think, not only have I NOT done that to you I damn sure don't appreciate your put down comments and you need to work on your own manners and politeness.
