It's been a while but on my 150 Roketa, I didn't have to remove the valve. If I remember right, to bypass or disable it I removed the cap on the bottom and screwed the hex nut all the way in to bottom it out.

I don't know how accurate it is but I thought I read somewhere that someone said the 250B came with 14's from the factory. Is that right, do you know?

I can't remember where, but I saw on the web a while back, gears for a 250. I changed the curve on the 150 I had and the mileage went up considerably. I'll keep looking around on the web, maybe I'll run into it again.
