Can someone offer some suggestions for transporting a scooter hundreds of miles so that I can ride it and then come back home? I am thinking of maybe renting a mini van and putting my scooter in the back.

My first scooter was a used 125cc 1988 Yamaha Riva. I put 10,000 miles on that scooter. My current scooter is a Genuine Buddy 170i.

Scooter just started right now on the first try without hesitation, so I guess the starter clutch is just sticky. Glad I have towing insurance. When it almost didn't start earlier, I had just bought ice cream and it was 90 degrees outside. The ice cream melting was my biggest concern. lol

I changed the gear oil a couple months ago. Maybe I should change it again to see if it helps unstick the starter clutch.

The starter clutch rotates which makes a roller bearing contact the camshaft until it starts?
