I have turned up the idle and as soon as I release the accelerator, it dies out. It is getting fuel but the flow is stopping for some reason or other.

I live in Florida and some idiot tried to steal my Tao Tao. What they didn't know: I had placed a ONGUARD u-lock on the front tire after someone tried to cut the wimpy $3 bike lock I originally had on it. They broke my plastic trim on the front but could not move it. Then I got a $20 Titanium cord & lock which is supposed to be "uncut-able" and I take the time to secure it to something immoveable if I have to leave it. The key: make it as difficult as possible because if u don't; ditto to all the other comments/suggestions.

The plug n play went well. I was able to start n ride but I noticed I have no brake lights when engaged. Signals & headlights are working fine. Also the other day I started it up and each time I released the fuel it would shut off. I rode it up the street and back, slowly, without releasing the fuel completely and it was fine but as soon as I release the fuel handle thingy, it shuts off. And yes-I love my 50cc scoot too. Takin care of it like a Benz-without the debt

First thank u all so much for the info u share; u save us so much $$ I will be donating to this site. When I hold my brakes I get no start or lights. The right side stopped working first but the left would still work for startup & brake lights. I found R & L brake switches online but I cannot find visual instructions to install them. Most manuals have no specifics or pics about replacing the brake switch. Is it E-Z ?

I have a 2013 Tao Tao CY50A. I have had normal wear issues...I changed gear; motor oils and replaced spark plug myself thanks to u-tube videos. Its been running great. I went to start it up last week and when I pressed the start button....nothing. Fuel gauge, lights, signals all working fine. I have to go to work so I'm gonna try the kick-start for the first time. Any ideas what the problem is?
