I just converted my scooter to a 4" cone air filter and I removed all the old air filter housing. I get excellent speed. on the old housing was a small box that I assumed was for draining moisture and what not. but there were two 1/4" lines run to the original housing and I cut the 4" box off old housing and just ran the two lines directly into that. I am wondering what I should actually do with those two lines one goes up to the carburetor and I am assuming it is like a warm air circulation line in the air intake. What should I actually do with those two lines.
one line runs up toward the carburetor the other runs along the frame to the front. I am unsure of what to do with the hoses at this point.
the line from up by carb ran into the top of the old air cleaner housing. the other ran into that black box that was part of the old air cleaner housing. and there was a small hose that ran from black box into the bottom of the air cleaner housing. trying to see what I should properly do with each line at this point.

im hoping someone can help, i hope. My jonway yy250t scooter with the engine that sits upright.
I blew a cvt belt and when I ordered the 900 series drive belt for it . it was way tight. I found the variator was not functioning properly so ordered that as well. I replaced the clutch. The belt seems tight. do you know what belt that i should have. everything i have found that does not refrence the 900 belt says its the 800 belt. I do not know what to do and it has me so frustrated at this point.

ok well here is an update. I replaced exhaust fuel pump enricher. I insured the enricher had power when running. I adjusted the valves they were too tight. I watched the video on how to properly adjust them. today after work it started right up without needed that throttle strap that I made to get it started. But now I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a vacuum diagram from for this bike. Really weird I get home from work today and a hose was sticking out the side that I never saw before it appears to go below the motor somewhere and it had no clamp on it so I am wondering if it is a breather hose or where the heck it is supposed to go to. Also a nut disapeared off of my rear brake caliper. I am honestly beginning to think someone is messing with me at work. I have had more things disapearing off the scoot in the last few months than I have had in four years. But a vacuum hose diagram would be great if I can find one somewhere.

I pulled the exhaust off and when i shake it, it sounds like a baby rattle inside. So now to wait for the new one to arrive. the en-richer is in. The fuel pump is on its way probably Tuesday arrival. And probably a week wait for the muffler system. no saving money this week on gas using the scoot for the commute to work. Looks like the Harley will be out of the shop at the exact same time that I can start using the scoot for my commute to work and home. I do have to say special thanks to Alleyoop and Cyborg for all of their knowledgeable advice. I will update on how the scoot runs once I get the last of the parts in and installed.

Well here is the consensus as of now. My ride home involved allowing the scoot to warm for awhile while the tractor trailer ran a regeneration for quite awhile. The scooter never stalled but then I got about three miles from work and it lost power I pulled over turned it off and immediately started it back up again. I was able to drive all the way home but not with the top speed she usually has. I was only able to get up to about 60 mph the whole ride home. (about 23 miles) I looked down the fuel line to see where the fuel filter may be to see if it were getting clogged and low and behold I can not find one. So I guess that I need to invest in one and put it in line, I also pulled a shut off switch off near the center stand that I installed a year ago to see if it was getting fuel and when i pulled it off the gas sure poured out fast. I wont be able to ride the scoot tomorrow for much more diagnoses as it is due to rain. Hopefully the en-richer finally comes in and I can pull the carburetor, and make sure nothing is in the bowl. I also looked over the bike to see if it had a evap canister and I am also unable to locate one of them either. Just for the heck of it I ordered a fuel pump and that should arrive Tuesday of next week. The bike now does have 5300 miles on it so I figured I might as well try it anyway. I did shine a flash light into the gas tank to see if anything was floating in there. And I also was not able to see if anything was floating.

Has nothing to do with the ENRICHER. it may be pressure in the tank builds up and stops the flow of fuel since it happens after quite a few miles of riding then returns to normal and agin happens after some riding. What is the temperature there if its hot that may be it. Alleyoop It was 61 degrees this morning right now it is 80 and I will be on my way home and will see if it happens again I've owned the scoot since new and never experienced this before I will update later

I have anothe interesting dilemma arise this morning The new enricher has not arrived yet so I'm waiting patiently for that But the problem that has come up is I was driving about 65-70 on the highway and all of a sudden I lost power I could not go 20 mph i slowly got to the next exit pulled into a gas station and the scoot stalled I decided to try to start it and it started right up and took me down the highway with full power I got about 10 miles and it did it again I pulled right off the shoulder turned it off then back on again and the scoot ran fine the rest of the way to work Is this type of behavior attributed to a rapidly failing enricher or is there something else I must quickly look deeper into

AH I see the confusion, That is the Termostat sensor so, But the ENRICHER itself has only two wires going to it right, that third wire is not connected to the ENRICHER's head it is just in the same wire loom am I right? Alleyoop You are absolutely correct the new enricher also has the same wires in the loom

Ok Allyoop here is the image of where the wire attaches on the engine. There is three wires. 1-yellow 1 Green 1 Green/Black. Any advice that you have would be terrific. Also the power feed yellow is it supposed to receive 12 volts when motor is running? or is it stepped down? Cyborg. Apparently I am prehistoric era and when freddy is born Ill tell him hello for you. lmao. As I never dealt with these enrichers before. And Mine failed off and does not function, so it is a horrible pain to start when cold. If I ever dealt with them before I would not have the need to request all of your wonderful advice. if it fails again after installing the new one I will go manual. Cyborg do you know where I can order the needed supplies to install it manually next time?

Ok great I see the second screw Maybe I could ask for a little knowledge on the way these are wired They are three wires One is for a temperature sensor it looks like I'm assuming 1 is a ground The other is power Am I correct in assuming that The temp sensor turns the enriched off when it is up to temperature and the power feed should have constant power when ignition is on My whole assumption is Constant 12v feed when ignition is on Constant ground And temp sensor wire tells the unit the temperature to disengage within? Any feed back is greatly appreciated

Yep, the auto-enricher is not working. Just change it out. Simple job, shouldn't take you long at all. I know, you prefer a manual choke, but when it works, the auto is pretty nice. okay I now know that it is the enricher. Could anyone tell me the proceedure for installing the new one. Do you have to take the carb off the bike to remove the enricher or does it just pull out the top of the carb while still on the bike. I can only see one screw on the carb and wondering if you unscrew that screw and pull out the enricher or if carb needs to be off to unscrew the auto enricher. Any information is completly grateful.

Okay lets see if I can describe this issue correctly. When it is below 60 degrees outside I have to crank and crank and crank to start the scoot. If it is above 65 degrees outside the scooter will start right up. I start it in the morning with cranking and cranking and cranking. I get to work park the scooter and when I get off work later in the day about 10 hours to 12 hours later when it is warmer outside and i can start the scooter right up. I am not getting any noise from the valves, The cam chain tension I replaced that because the bolt and spring rattled out over the last four years. Luckily they are one way and the cam chain did not slip. and it is operating as intended. And this problem existed prior to that issue. Once the scooter warms up it idles and runs beautifully. Plenty of power and speed without any hesitations. I can actually jump on the highway and take off and reach 70 in a very short distance. I have always changed the oil regularly. There is a new spark plug in the motor. Also problem existed before changing the spark plug. I replaced that just because I change that every season weather the old plug is good or not. When motor is warm i just tap the starter and she starts right up with no hesitation. Also when it is cold and just started for the first time it does not like to idle. I have actually fashioned a clip strap to hold the throttle a little open when first starting the scooter when it is cold. after about two minutes of warm up I can remove the strap and everything will be perfectly fine until the next day after the cool night air has plagued me once again. Could this be a problem with the choke. And if so is there any way at all possible to convert these from a electronic choke to a manual choke system. I never liked electronic chokes in the first place.

well if you are in the USA the rear flashers that are amber CAN NOT be lit unless flashing only the fronts can it is DOT regulations that say permanent lit lights amber in front and only red in the rear. A permanent amber in the rear can make a driver coming upon you from the rear think that a vehicle is actually coming straight at them rather than away. USA dot regulations specifically state that permanent lit lights of amber can only be on the front and red in the rear.
