Another note the front and rear sit much to high. Bad geometry. Like jacking a truck up with out suspension mods. what did they do? to cope steering dampers. Next would be to get the control arm mounted correctly or lower the scoot to bring them just above level with the pavement. Spring rates for front and rear are not correct either but l have not calculated those yet. Lowering the trike will help it handle much better for many reasons but not good for of roading if thats what you want. I have not calculated roll center yet either so as can tell my scoot is a work in progress. I find your inputs very help as to what trouble to avoid. Thanks to all. Dennis

I am trying to increase the main fuel jet from a 110 to a 125 on a DA sun carb. Does anyone have experience sourcing jets for this type of carb? Thanks for any help. Dennis

I just found your post. I have had one since early spring, l don't find anything bad about it other than normal things most of us have found with other scoots on this sight. The fellow that said forget it is just mistaken. I have found nothing out of the regular pains. I have found frames and most any thing l would want or need, just had to look around a bit and found several suppliers.Have fun and enjoy it. It should be OK like most of the China scoots.

To all.please tell me what you might know about the engine from 2008 that is labeled on one of its tags 174.5 cc. I have not seen a gy6 with this cc in my experience. Thanks for any and all help.I should say that I would like to know about such things as but not limited to performance parts, including gearing, stroke, better intake manifolds, carbs etc.I would like to increase top speed 5-10mph as a primary goal. Thanks again D.M.T.

With all the iron you have and the cars and trucks you have driven I have great respect. I use to drive semi truck and motorcycles oh and roadraced formula cars as well as sedan cars like the one in the pic, except mine was modified for roadracing. I guess from having been an instructor for semi truck driving when I was 21 to roadracing instructor at 25 and competing for thirty five years in cars etc.it is just my nature to care big fella. Good luck.

I would also suggset getting rid of the glass fuse. The mini spade makes a better connection than that cheap fuse holder and you can get one that is "water tight". By the way don't forget to use dialectic grease on all connections. It protects against moisture. Many years of dealing with British cars has taught me much about 12 volt electrics. After reading all of this, would it not be a good idea to come up with a modification that anyone could do that would split out the different systems into a fused curcuit of there own? Wouldn't that help protect against such things happening? Just a thought. If I put this in the wrong place would someone move it. Napa sells fuse boxes in a range of prices and wire etc to do the job.

You said you are going to just go out for short slow rides is what I got. So keep it to that the thing won't run as fast as a 150cc scooter with that engine and all that weight. I will say that a good deal it was for around town bike. you might want to go to a riding school for side cars they are very different than a two wheeler.
