No just turns over and over. Do I need to line up on the line to the left of the T mark or the line to the right of the F mark

Sorry all for the disapppearing act but I was beyond my limit in money patience well just everything. But im back got a new piston and cylinder kit. Took my time putting it together and made sure my ring gaps were correct at .010.. ok so put it in and a massive bump in compression. ..imo. ok so now im trying to get my timing set. Im getting popping and stuff and ALOT of white/grey smoke poring out the exhaust when trying to start. So what do I need to attack first the smoke or the timing...or are the related? Thx guys again sorry. Just needed to step away for a bit

I just checked againits only hard in one spot I think thats when its dipping into the case and coming back out. Man I really dont wanna buy new jug n piston.

Yea it sparks off the motor. And I cleaned and adjusted the carb. Thats why we thought it was the timing

Could a loose chain cause it to not start.....
and in the video you cant really hear the 'popping'

Yea I adjusted valves to.004 and compression is enough that it should start.. in the vid it was at tdc im just dumb

When I got it set like the pics. It just turns and turns and acts like it wants to start. When we spray starter fluid into carb intake it doesn't pop or anything. The plug smells like the starter fluid but its not wet. Im just confused there like no reason its not starting

Ok yea my bro said he thought the chain was wore out or something because the tensioner is all the way out when we put it in.he think that it could be rolling the cam back. Or something like that
