I see what your talking about. That's a black wire with I thought was to kill switch and I disconnected it to eliminate the kill switch itself. Is that wire supposed to have 12 volts from battery with key on ?

Also yes my pick up coil is two wires. Which is why I was a little confused everything I was looking at was single wire

Ok on here last week got some fantastic advice. Also got a wiring diagram. The scooter im working on doesn't seem to follow typical 50cc scooters. Diagram says single wire off pick up coil mine has two wires both wires have around. 057 ac volts coming off which seems to be bad but not sure

daddyof7 The pick up coil will not have 12 volts on it. Look at this diagram of the ignition firing circuit. If you CDI is AC and like most of the 50cc scooters out there it will be then here is what to check for and expect. Click on the above picture for a better view. The pick up coil as you mentioned will have a very low voltage, it will be AC and between 0.5 and 1.5Vac. This wire is usually blue/white but can also be red/white. The other wire from the stator to the CDI is the AC feed wire to the CDI usually red/black and again it's AC and should be 60 to 90Vac depending on engine RPM speed. Test these two wires and see if they read like they should. Also another bad source to kill engine spark is the CDI kill wire which is black/white. If this wire is grounded out anywhere then the CDI will do nothing. A good way to test for this possibility is to temporarily remove that wire. JR JR Please let me know if im on right path

JR tested wires of off pick up coil. AC volts .057 with cranking. The pick up has two wires coming off (1 is blue/white other is red/white) both wires are attached to pick up. The two wires off starter wheel are white and red /tan. Which change at 4 wire connector to a white wire and a yellow wire. Black wire off cdi box is not grounded.

ok folks I posted here a little bit ago ran into slight family problem. but I still have issue with this scooter its a qlink 50cc hawk50. it has no spark. where im at now is im looking for wiring diagram for this bike. anyone have an idea where this might be found. the dealer that used to sell these stopped selling them because he said they were to much of a pain when they failed. they are absolutely no help with any information or hell parts for even that matter. i was originally told that the only thing that fails is cdi box or the coil. (of course this was the only info ive gotten out of dealer). so of course ive changed those with no avail. someone posted on my last thread to check the wiring. so im currently going down that path. the pick up coil isn't getting 12 volts on any of the four wires all stay ground. id rather not open up wire looms to figure out which wire is supposed to be positive with key on. any help is much appreciated thanks in advance
