Hi Guys. Looking definitely for Alley on this one since he really helped me get my scoot back to the way it was.
I currently have the 5 Gram Dr. Pulley sliding roller weights in the variator. I purchased the Dr. Pulley regular 5 gram roller weights also as a spare. But is there a difference with the sliding design and the regular roller? Going any lower on Gram sizes, is that safe? What are the symptoms of the weights going bad, or the weight? I notice when I ride I get like a slight ginding feel in the drivetrain which goes in and out at times. Not to rough but I can feel the vibration. I noticed that when there were 8 Gram weights in there, it didn't do that. Is this an RPM being higher thing type of feel? Or is that normal to feel that way?
Also. Is it worth changing out the clutch springs? I was thinking of just buying another clutch with maybe like 1500RPM springs in it already. I'm pretty much trying to go for the best way to move the fastest with the scooter. Fastest take off and fastest speeds basically. Without damaging the engine. Although most of the time, I will say I ride WOT. I just cant go slower then WOT lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
49cc TaoTao ATM Scoot.

no huge surprise with the difference in roller weights the "mechanic" said he put in and what actually went in ,,this is one of the reasons i do my own repair and maintainance myself,,,i know whats going on and it's done right,,,i can use higher quality parts,,,Glad you got it running back to normal,,,,Alley has helped untold thousands of people with their scoots,,,,amazing,,,one of the best online diagnosis and repair men on the net,,,there's a piston right there Thanks for that tip. Because of Alley, I was able to learn and do this on my own now. That man really helped me out. I might go with more aftermarket parts since there fairly cheap even for the good stuff. Had trial and error. Spent money but it helped me learn to do it myself. Now when it comes to the carb, that might be a whole other story lol

A good lock and an Eectric Starter/Alarm installed. I got mine off ebay for $28 shipped. And its LOUD AS HELL. Its all motion activated. When You touch the scooter it starts beeping really loud slowly then stops. If your moving it without deactivating it, that joker gets really loud and has a really loud wistle. All plug and play, Installed very easily. Plus I have a lock to just in case. Most places, I just park all the way in the front. Where everyone normally is. But I still set the alarm and getting a cover is wise to. There pretty cheap on ebay also.

Man Alleyhoop. GOD BLESS YOU!! Everything FEELS like its BACK TO NORMAL! I got my Pep back!! Installed the Sliding roller weights with NO problems. Everything was a total Breeze. Just by taking off I noticed the difference in the RPM sound and Feel that the scooter had. It gets back up to speed the way it did before. Man this is so awesome! Now I need to see what other little adjustments I can start making to get a little more pep in my step. I might just go with the Big Bore upgrade lol God Bless you man. Thank you for showing me and explaining everything to me! I definitely could have saved money by listening to you. But this is what it took for me to learn about the scooter. Thank you again man. You have been a huge help!

Ok. Got the scooter ready. Cant believe how easy it was to remove that Variator. Thank you for pointing me to the video to get it done. I'm gonna let the scooter sit until the Weights come today. So I take everything off and to my surprise, I decided to weigh the rollers that the guy installed and told me they were 7 grams. Heh, try 8 GRAMS! !?!?!?!?!?!? So that's 1500rpm I lost?!?! I can definitely feel that difference. Stock ones were 5 grams. I got the Mr. Pulley 5gram slider weights coming today. And thank you for the picture I will make sure I install them in the right way. Thank you for the help with it. Will post back!

But this will be a good learning experience for me. So now I will know how things work and what to look for. I'm gonna keep you updated on this post and really appreciate ALL of your HELP!!

Man. Thanks for that reply. My fad has all the tools here at the garage and I'm going to make sure that I do this install. I got these 5gram ones off eBay. But ill also look foe the name you mentioned. It really is a lot. The power loss is horrible for what I'm experiencing. Going up a hill was at like 10-15 miles mph. I felt like I could walk faster then that. So you have the best video that shows exactly how to take that variator off? I took the clutch off before. But I wont need to mess with the rear clutch. Just the from pully right?
