While on a ride at full throttle I suddenly started to lose power until my scooter died. Scooter smoked a lot after it died and struggled to get started. It didn't sound good. Took it to a shop and they said it sounded either like a crank or crank bearing that had gone out. They quoted me anywhere from $500-$1000 to replace. Scooter is maybe worth $700, so I'd really like to do it myself.
The problem is I have no experience working on one of these. I don't know what parts or tools I need. I have seen several videos online that are somewhat helpful in knowing how to take everything apart, but I appreciate any advice I can get. Also, what am I looking for to know for sure that I need to replace the crank?

Also, does anyone have a good source to buy good quality hoses at a decent price?

I am going to replace all my vacuum hoses on my 150 cc gy6 scooter. I'm wondering what diameter hose I need and is it the same size as my fuel line?
