It is a 4 wheeler. The vacuum line from the intake is going to the center port on the fuel pump. The hose from the tank goes to a port labeled in. The hose from the top of the carb tee's into the vacuum from the intake. The inlet hose is connected to a port labeled out, on the fuel pump. The fuel pump has another port marked vent. I plugged it off.
P.S. I did not check the carb out before installing it. I took it out of the box and hooked it up. Could the float be causing this problem? I didn't check the level. It runs long enough to empty the bowl, then dies, yet as soon as it dies, I can open the bowl drain and fuel runs out.

Compression is strong enough that it blew my finger off the hole.

Oh yes! In fact, I had the dipstick out and it blew oil across my shop.

Ok, valves are set at .004. I still have the same issue.
Here's a note; After it dies, I still have spark and fuel, but even spraying starting fluid in the carb will not cause it to start.
